I'm sorry to explain myself so badly
it is about copying all the discs of a lpar of a CPD, with which I do not share
anything. I'm limited by cost issue. Due to the old hardware in origin, I would
need an additional card in my hardware (more modern) to be able to read the
cartridges.

So you are trying to copy a bunch of primary disk from one datacenter to a
second datacenter using VTS? The only way I can see this is to be doing FDR or
DF/DSS dumps of the disk volumes in the primary datacenter to the VTS, use GGM
(if it can be done) to get the volumes to the second VTS,
Gadi,
I'm not sure where to look because somebody else set it up here, but what
you're trying to do is definitely doable - because that's how it is set up
here. Second copy of archlogs go to a tape and "filea" is label 1 on the tape
and "fileb" is label 2, both cataloged.

If you really think SMS is not honoring the space allocation, then you should
open up a PMR to IBM to find out how to correct the behavior.
I expect based on how SMS selects volumes, you may SEE volumes that look
eligible, but SMS will not

Might want to look at fragmentation on target volumes. Even if it's available
the primary needs to be satisfied in 5 extents or less. I forget which field it
is but you can actually sort on it from ISMF to see which volumes need
attention;i.e. DEFRAG.

All of our proclibs are named such that I can do a 3.4 and get them all:
=3.4 SYS*.**.PROCLIB
Then simply use SRCHFOR or MEM x command on the DSLIST.

Since you are receiving an IGD message, I am going to presume your TMS is RMM

RMM AFAIK does not allow reading of a scratch tape.

This error means you didn’t ask for enough space. There can be plenty of space
available, but if
One problem we had was unequal usage on the available volumes. The first
volumes considered by SMS were almost full, no way to fulfill the primary space
allocation. There was enough space in volumes that SMS would have checked

How do you want to copy discs with ggm, which copies tapes from VTS grid to VTS
grid?
For disc there is Global Copy, which copies data from the old to the new discs
and keeps them synchronized.

f it had a connection between the two disk booths, it could use Global Copy,
but there is no means to establish a PPRC.
They are two isolated centers, and I can not make a cartridge copy and restore
because I need a card. and the project budget is limited
Sorry, i don't understand. If you don't have a connection, how would you use
ggm? What 'card' do you need?
Please explain what you try to do.

There can be enough space in the SG, but was the *requested* space available,
