Maybe a packet trace would reveal if something unusual is being sent back to
the server and triggering the strange behaviour.

Vista 3270 doesn't even have to be installed, either.
Once you've installed it on one machine, I've found you can dump the relevant
folders onto a USB stick, copy onto the work machine, and just execute the
vistaTN3270.exe file. I've not tried running it from a USB stick.you never

Well, it works, and is better than I expected, but if you're working all day in

TN3270 Plus I found was excellent - multiple tabbed sessions in 1 window.
That's the only other thing I wish Vista had.

I suppose it will be optionally enabled,vuntil z/OS v3r1 :)
Shouldn't the 2.3 preview be released about now? Maybe other APARs will reveal

You could try an RMF CPU report, which should show MT information if it is
enabled.
But the "+N" on your display seems to say the multiple cores are online but not
available for use, so you wont be using them. The underlying hardware is
telling z/OS "no" I guess.
Hi Jake,
One easy way is via Resource Link.
Click on "Machine Information", then the machine you're interested in, then

You can update the font in your Preferences/Archive options. There's a setting
to switch to proportional font.
The new filters are a good way of grouping messages that usually get split due

Does this happen only on the first time for each ID?
Wondering if it's OMVS automount related, i.e., it trying to create/auto-mount
a zFS for that user.

I'd probably stop using the Windows client, and focus only the z/OS

any complications from Windows, and as many as possible from external
network.

It's possible the IBM Z requirements are for the "Virtual Dev and Test for z/OS

These components are mentioned

I've vague memories of needing to increase a few structure sizes as they failed
to rebuild onto a z15 CF coming from z13, but apart from that yep, it's totally
possible and completely normal situation for a lot of customers when migrating
from one machine type to another.

The holddata for SECINT looks like below. Note the function SYSMOD, not PTF
SYSMOD ID:
++ HOLD(HSMA230) FMID(HSMA230) REASON(BHx) ERROR DATE(yyddd)
COMMENT(SMRTDATA(FIX(UIx) SYMP(B5.9,T5.7)
CHGDT(yyddd))) CLASS(SECINT).
++ HOLD(HSMA240) FMID(HSMA240) REASON(CHx) ERROR
If you do a cross zone query against the SYSMOD name of the FMID (e.g.
HRF77B0), then select the GLOBAL zone, then "L" for HOLDDATA, you will see all
the SECINT class holds if they are there.
If they've also received the SECINT assign statements, there will also be
SYSMODs with a SOURCEID of
"df -k ." will tell you the filesystem name for the directory you're
currently working in.
"df -k | grep x" will show you all filesystems with x in the name.

Does your site use SSH to connect to z/OS and reset passwords, or do you have
