I am using redhat 8 ( linux 2.4). I telnet to a HP_UX machine, but I am not able to
execute an x-application ( from hp-ux) even after exporting the display of my linux
machine. I also did xhost + in my linux m/c before doing export in hp-ux. I am getting
error :
Cannot open display
I don't think you'll be able to do this just from telnet. Use X in query
mode as:
On server:
1. Enable XDMCP (editing /etc/X11/xdm/xdm.conf or gdm.conf, whichever
applicable)
2. restart GDM/XDM/KDM as applicable
One client:
1. stop your own Xwindow, using init 3
2. Log into the console, and type

A short cut to upgrade linux kernel would be to simply go to RH site and download the
laest kernel rpm. The command is as simple as installing any other rpm. I beleive
there are three kernel releases for rh 9.0.
However, before you do that, you need to know why are you upgrading . and

It works for me.
Did you rebuild the virtusertable(using make or makemap hash
virtusertable virtusertable)and restart sendmail - make sure to kill
Either use a .forward file in user's home directory or create an
appropriate virtusertable entry. After creating an entry in
virtusertable you need to run the make in /etc/sendmail and restart
sendmail. I prefer the former method.

special rpm for adding the mp3 support for xmms.
1. download that.
2. rpm -ivh thatspecific.rpm
3. restart xmms.
