That huge carrier on 1098 should be from the Marshall Islands as they typically leave OC on AN. This can get out well and I have honestly had the het here(weakish but a 2 KHz het) on my old TRF as WTAM fades out due to sunrise. On the DX setup I've pulled up island mx once and traces a couple

Hi Brett, The Sony ICD-SX57 has a very convenient in-line recording jack which accepts a stereo mini-plug, and cuts out the microphone inputs completely. You can also monitor the signal as it is being recorded. It works perfectly for me, with the ULR's.
