Steve,
I don't use CFL in the house as I don't like their light and I have
plenty of regular bulbs for a long time. I have no idea what the
neighbors use. There are so many devices that can put out carriers. I
know the early CFLs did put out carriers as I have a couple the power
company sent me
Thhe Mini World 100 PE is a small 2AA set that tunes AM, FM and 6 shortwave
bands. It is not especially sensitive on AM. Audio is good, and superb in
headphones. A loop antenna helps.
I have 2 black Mini 300's. Digital display with cranky analog tuning. The whip

Amazon is known for jumping the release date gun. If a book or DVD is
set to be released on, say a Tuesday, you could pre-order it say on the
preceding Wednesday and maybe get the book delivered on the actual
release date. I have heard of that happening in reference to Harry
Potter books and
1566 seemed to have two stations this morning, and was strong enough from
1528-1540 utc to use AM-sync mode on the modified R75. HLAZ seemed to have a
man preaching but another station playing jazzy short jingles and some other
light instrumental music in the background. 1575 and 1593 also good
I just happened to tune 1575 at 16:00 today and was pleasantly surprised to
hear VOA Bangla service at good level. What was as interesting, though, was
the presence of 3 other signals on the Perseus waterfall (I measured VOA at
1575.000): 1574.943, 1575.023 and 1575.034. Nothing visible as I
does anyone know if a G1100 battery cover would be the same as the E100?

IBOC??? WRTH 2009 has three stations on 810, none by this name, and none in
Guatemala City; there is a G.C. outlet on 820, so none of this makes sense

In my case, if even one could cause RFI, it is not going to be in my

Off the NE EWE, there is a Very strong carrier at S9+45-50 DB on 1380
and horrible IBOC hash on 1390. Cannot tell on 1370 as I have a local,
KAST. Anyone in the Puget Sound can check? Thanks.

Hi Patrick,
I'm in northeast Seattle, and I certainly hear the IBOC hash, but KRKO's
modulation is very low.
Carrier sounds stronger than usual, though, and I know they were planning
on using IBOC.
Their signal isn't sensational here, but I can't imagine who else would be
doing IBOC on 1380.
Patrick
I checked on the SDR-IQ, and the display is showing IBOC hash on 1370
and 1390. The IBOC carriers are about about the right level to be
originating from them, and they change strength by the same amount as
KRKO when I switch antennas. Your suspicions appear to be correct, but
I'll
Thanks Bruce Rick,
The signal is down now to S9+15, but it was Very strong for a while.
It looks like they are testing the new 50 KW, IBOC and all. The earlier
signal was probably the 34 KW ND I would guess, maybe 50 KW ND? It was
stronger than I get KIRO or KJR!!! Oh great, another IBOC
Thanks Rick. It looks like the power boost for 1380 has become a
reality unfortunately, plus more IBOC noise and 1390 has been a good
channel logging Maine SC and few years back.

Patrick,
CFL light bulbs do have a radio-related, redeeming value. They contain most
