I knew before DXing this morning not to expect much and it turned out to be the
worst this autumn. The only TP signals audible here were weak hets on 558,
612, 702, 747 and 774 kHz in the minutes before local sunrise at 1239 UTC.
Usual JOUB 774 was heard with a weak carrier, but no audio. It

Listened from 1303-1345 utc and conditions was up a little from yesterday. All
carriers and audio was on the bottom part of the band.
279 Russia very poor at 1309 utc.
594 JOAK poor at 1319 utc.
657 N. Korea poor at 1321 utc.
774 JOUB fair at 1312 utc.
828 JOBB very poor at 1338 utc.
Nice logs, Allen. I don't have my Cappahayden logs handy, but Jean Burnell
and I heard a mess of Air India stations last fall. The trick is to get
their sign on. It takes a good while, from an open carrier to tone, to flute
music. Enough time to flip through an entire list of stations you can
As Richard noted, expectations weren't high today, and the results
pretty much met those expectations. JOUB 774 prevented an Asian
shutout this morning, with audio around 1330. Also heard some weak DU
signals on 702, 891, and 1116 at times.Definitely not a morning to
remember.

Sunday morning...
At 0616 had very weak classical music //950 for Boissevain and Altona MB

Pat Martin and Shaun Axelrod reported a tone of some sort at just about that

Yes, I hear that tone around 0019, I will check the tape over again
tonight and see what I can come up with. Thanks.

By way of introduction since I haven't posted to this group before, my name is

This was an interesting morning here. The NHK powerhouses on 594 693

Things were a little better here this morning, but still not what I'd regard as
stellar. Because it's not a work day, I really tried to mine things a bit, and
lasted from 1400 to after 1440UT, when the NHK2 transmitters were still holding
forth a bit, and showing no signs of signing off, which

Hello All,
It seems like a West Coast location paid off this morning,

Thanks Nick,
That's very useful information. 1134-KBS is one of the strongest Koreans
here, and usually dominates the busy frequency. I'll check it the next time
that the 639 mystery station shows up, for a possible parallel (and be
interested in any more information that Mauno has).
I have something on 861 at 2150 EDT. Very faint. May be Spanish, not sure.
Does not seem // Reloj. It's spoken word, and I'm noting four music sounds
or climes roughly every minute or so. On my south wire, which was poorly
laid and has not produced what I'd otherwise expect.

I'm now hearing the chimes occasionally on 790; the musical chimes seem to
come in betwen the two (male and female) speakers. And I'm hearing the usual
Reloj noises on both channels. No sign of it on 860 proper. Does anyone know
if this is the usual 860 station decidedly off-channel, or another
Saul,
I'm seeing a carrier on 861 also. Perhaps very weak traces of audio,
but mostly buried in IBOC noise.

Same here, but no IBOC noise noted, but very weak audio, man talking? It

As I said before, your location is more advantageous for reception of signals
from Asia than mine. The most oblivious advantage you have over me is
distance. Of the few DXers currently posting their TP reception, I am the
furthest inland. And, all of that extra distance is overland.

I'll be eager to try 1134 kHz for a parallel, the next time that this

occasionally it is dominant, and rarely even alone on the frequency. Your

Slightly better than average this morning with loud JA big guns and some nice
2nd tier JAs as well. LWBC Russians have returned. China/Taiwan up and down,
sometimes loud. Koreans doing well with easy parallels on 558/603.
