To a lesser degree, the 380 audio had too much low frequency rumble.

The reason some products have RFI problems and others don't is almost always
traceable to money. It takes a bit of money to design things so that RFI is
minimized, and it costs a little money for components to filter the
interference and shield the susceptible areas.

Several US AM stations have used CFA antennas and also there was an FCC
licensed experimental station in the X band. Domestic DXers (not me!) would
have to tell you more.
A ham has already written an extensive QEX article on the CFA. See the May-June

the 160 meter hams list.
Too bad my PL-380 won't tune 160 meters.

The lowest frequency was always chosen to be 1.6 or 2 MHZ in the past, as the
plethora of interference from AM stations makes it difficult to dig out the
needle of returned signal in the haystack of babble. I have seen occasional
sets of data going lower (1 MHZ) but cant remember if it was

I'll bet some things are mixed up here.
There's no sampling rate of 950 regardless of the unit you meant (samples,
kilosamples, etc).
Did you mean to set the center frequency to 950 kHz? That's a common choice to
record 1.6 MHZ (not 1.75 MHZ) of spectrum, thereby covering 150 kHz to
The power of a great antenna (a long Beverage) and a great location (tip of
Newfoundland) has given us about 30 Argentine stations so far.
In this age of crowded channels, 30 Argentines seems almost impossible which
makes listening to those ID's a real thrill.

An option that requires no new and larger monitor is to go to Control
Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display . The screen will say Make It
Easier To Read What Is On The Screen. You can then choose to make everything
be 125% or 150% larger.
You may or may not be totally happy with this.
Who knows what you heard Nick, but DWXI deserves strong consideration as they

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
Do you have rough (or better) numbers for the number of AM stations
transmitting IBOC at the peak and today? It seems there have been no new major
users of IBOC since the initial phase, and a lot (half?) of the original
supporters have turned it off
