Pat, I knew that if they were carriers here, at the coast they would probably be audio. Thanks for checking the South Pacific stations. Would love to hear some Island music here. Dennis, Salmon Creek, WA ___ IRCA mailing list

Dennis, Back around 1979-80 when the solar cycle was peaked, Pacific Island stations would be heard inland often. Back in the older DXWW-West IRCA Foreign logs, you would see fair number of reports inland. By early reports on this next solar cycle, this may be a big one again, so those Pacific

Pat, That would be great to be able to hear down under stations again. Back in 81 from my 1 bedroom apartment in Albany, CA heard about a dozen down-under stations. HQ-180 and 4' NRC loop. Just looking back at the log book the solar flux in OCT 1980 ranged around 185-259. In the old days

Dennis, From 1979 to about 1985, I went from less than a dozen DU veries, to over 200. I remember one day in 1979, that Summer, I lived in Seaside 1/2 block from the beach and I walked down to the post office and found 7 QSLs in the box. 4 were Australians and 3 were from New Zealand. I remember

Jim, Yes, I sure remember the coast to coast TIS reception too. I QSL'd quite a few. I guess we were there at the right time. I wish the TIS stations would move up between 1700-1800 khz. We could have our heyday back. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin KAVT Reception Manager

Dennis, I don't remember the LAPD one, but I did get a lot of coast to coast TIS stations. Some that come to mind Pennsylvania HAR in Allentown on 1630, JFK 1700, VA on 1620, etc. Those were great times. Back in the great DU days, I used to get Hawaii by 8 or 9 PM (PT), around LSS in Hawaii.
