For those who weren't aware of the fact, XHDATA and Radiwow are actually the
same Chinese company, which has specialized in wholesale design appropriation
of the C.Crane Skywave SSB's technical innovations (in the D-808) and physical
cabinet characteristics (in the R-108). As for why they

I don't normally buy stuff from Ebay. But when I do, it's a XHDATA D-808 that
isn't legally sold in North America. Cost $AUD 118 including shipping from
Australia via Singapore. It arrived by Canada Post on Friday, less than 2
weeks after I ordered it. It's a little bigger than the C Crane
I can say my unmodified XHDATA D-808 has superb sensitivity on MW. The
selectivity is very good also. It also has excellent nulling capability by
rotating the radio. I much prefer it over the Grundig Executive traveler
for ease of operation. I got it on ebay for around $90 dollars last
summer.
Detailed information concerning the new, Chinese-made XHDATA D-808
AM-LW-FM-SW-AIR portable has been posted previously, including its
hot-performing AM-DXing loopstick, SSB capability and rechargeable lithium-ion
battery. This model was "inspired" (to be generous) by the C.Crane Skywave
Gary,
Thanks for your reviews on this new receiver. Having RDS is a big plus.
A suggestion. As you review and compare, please note whether the sets have the
“line out” feature since this is a big help (at least to me). Thanks.

Yes, normally I would do that in a full review, but this was kind of a special
case of a foreign-designed model that was unavailable in
. I don't know if a 18650 qualifies and have not found a clear
answer.

Where can you buy one? The sites I've checked won't ship it to the US
(not FCC-approved, maybe?).

After receiving an inquiry from Mark Roberts concerning the new XHDATA D-808's
FM-DXing sensitivity, I decided to run a detailed comparison with the Tecsun
PL-380-- one of the Si4734 DSP chip models which gained top FM-DXing honors in
the 2015 Ultralight Radio Shootout review. In my very

In construction very similar to that of the CC Skywave, the D-808 separates
into two main circuit boards, connected together

The new portable does have Longwave coverage from 150-450 kHz, although with
the MW-oriented loopstick you may need to be
The XHDATA D-808 portable is an FM-AM-SW-SSB-AIR band model which has already
been the subject of many excellent reviews. Until recently the model was not
marketed to North American purchasers, but recently a couple of Chinese sellers
have started soliciting North American buyers via eBay
