I have been trying out some new software on my QS1R SDR and have found the
results to be quite good. I currently am running the receiver using several

It sounds like WCRN was on day pattern a bit late as, you are correct, their
night pattern has a severe null to the west to protect WCCO.

But lots of features and low cost.
Tom there's a raft of tiny digital recorders available. The Sony 820 you

lift files directly to the computer.
Olympus also has a very good machine...the VN-8100PC (again, PC means it has

On the high end of the scale, I recommend the Sony PCM-D50 which I've
used for a few years. It supports both .wav and MP3 and the 4GB

I have a Sony ICD-UX70. I've used it occasionally to record from an Ultralight,

My biggest complaint is that because it runs on a single AAA battery, it eats

Some popular SDRs can be had for under $1000. The RFSpace SDR-IQ

I've owned an SDR-IQ for about 3.5 years and like it quite a bit. The
main drawback is you can only record 196 kHz of spectrum at a time.
