There is a new Sangean recorder out there that looks interesting. Have to still research it more. Memory is SD card and you would have to manually move it to PC via card readerno USB transfer. But lots of features and low cost.

I have a Sony ICD-UX70. I've used it occasionally to record from an Ultralight, somewhat more often recording via mike input from the car radio. In terms of recording audio either way, it works very well. My biggest complaint is that because it runs on a single AAA battery, it eats them up.
