It was a daytime regular in Cupertino when we lived there in the
mid-1960s, albeit not very strong. I QSLed KWUN in 1967. - John S.

Good Evening,
Below is a link to a copy of a fcc letter to radio station
KABN 1480 Concord, CA. Formerly KWUN 1480.
I lived about 25 miles from the station and first logged
KWUN on 07-09-68.
Any of you Dxers remember the above station or QSL it?
Dennis,
Salmon Creek, WA
I'm not sure it was ever actually operating once the call letter shuffle
started. I was in a place where I could have heard them relatively easily,
and never did. I did hear all the 10-watt TIS stations from Contra Costa,
Alameda, Santa Clara and Sacramento Counties on a regular basis, but never
Dennis,
This was my most wanted CA for years, besides KPPC-1240 (QSL'd the FM
though), but never Concord. Too much QRM via Eureka and Merced I guess.
Thanks for the info.

Dennis,
Of course I remember KWUN! When I dxed from Sacramento 1965-1969 this
was one of my two closest unheards, the other being KVRE-1460 Santa
Rosa. I had KXOA on 1470 but they had some off time those days but
never did I hear KWUN. Driving to S.F. from Sacto I would have the dial
on
When in Sacto 1965-1969 when local KROY-1240 would shut down for a few
hours (sporadically) usually from 12-5 a.m. it left me an opportunity to
try for two stations I really wantedI would catch the Abbotsford BC
station s/off around 12:07 //to the Chilliwack 1270 station if I
remember
Don,
Thanks to the DX Test a few years ago, I finally logged and QSL'd KJAY.
Another most wanted for me. A toughie to say the least! KVRE/KRRS is
common here as I tink they send the signal North.
