Dear friends, Happy New Year! Please take time to read this mail; I believe you’ll find this mail helpful. For last few months I could not check mails regularly (actually, few months ago, I was stabbed by street robbers, which I have already informed you. I had very bad time, especially psychological, financial. I am OK now.) Now when I started to check mails already saved in my Inbox, I am just astonished to see many duplicate mails in the Inbox from the members of groups. That is, members have added my email address to their mailing list while they posted mails to groups. This is a time killing job for me and I am just lost and confused. It is also against groups’ policy and there is no point to do this as I am already receiving mails from groups. If members add my address when they reply to my mails posted to the groups that can make sense. From those mails I have found an interesting mail and am forwarding for you all. It was funny; the person who forwarded this mail to me did not follow the instructions or did not read the mail before posting! HOW TO FORWARD E-MAIL APPROPRIATELY A friend who is a computer expert received the following directly from a system administrator for a corporate system. It is an excellent message that ABSOLUTELY applies to ALL of us who send e-mails. Please read the short letter below, even if you're sure you already follow proper procedures.. Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% DO NOT. Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it? Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every e-mail address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel! How do you stop it? Well, there are several easy steps: (1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message (at the top). That's right, DELETE them. Highlight them and delete them, backspace them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only takes a second You MUST click the Forward button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message. If you don't click on Forward first, you won't be able to edit the message at all. (2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the To: or Cc: fields for adding e-mail addresses. Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way the people you send to will only see their own e-mail address. If you don't see your BCC: option click on where it says To: and your address list will appear. Highlight the address and choose BCC: and that's it, it's that easy. When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say Undisclosed Recipients in the TO: field of the people who receive it. (3) Remove any FW : in the subject line. You can re-name the subject if you wish or even fix spelling. (4) ALWAYS hit your Forward button from the actual e-mail you are reading. Ever get those e-mails that you have to open 10 pages to read the one page with the information on it? By Forwarding from the actual page you wish someone to view, you stop them from having to open many e-mails just to see what you sent. (5) Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition? It states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names and email addresses. A FACT: The completed petition is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses contained therein. If you want to support the petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient. Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list of names and email address on a petition.

* * * * * * *The Last Person to Enter Paradise* The Prophet (saw) has told us about the last man who will be brought out of Hell and into Paradise and the conversation that will take place between him and his Rabb, and the incredibly great honour that Allah (swt) will bestow upon him. Ibn al-Ithir collected all the hadith on this topic in Jami' al-Usool from which we will quote the following: *(i)* 'Abdullaah ibn Mas'oud (ra) said: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, I know the last of the people of Hell who will be brought forth from it, and the last of the people of Paradise to enter it. It is a man who will come out of Hell crawling on all fours. Allah will say to him, Go and enter Paradise. So he will come to it and will suppose that it is full. He will go back and say, My Rabb, I found it full. Allah (swt) will say, Go and enter Paradise for there you have something like the world and ten times over [or you have something ten times better than the world]. He will says, Are you making fun of me - or laughing at me - and You are the Sovereign of all? I ['Abdullaah] saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) smiling so broadly that his back teeth were visible. He used to say, That is the one who is lowest in status of the people of Paradise. *[al-Bukhaari, 11/386, ar-Riqaaq, at-Tawheed Baab Kalaam ar-Rabb 'azza wa jall yawm al-qiyamah ma'a al-anbiyaa wa ghayrihim; and Muslim, with slight variation, no. 186, Baab aakhir Ahl an-Naar Khurujan; and at-Tirmidhi, no. 2598 in Safah Jahanam, Ch. 10]* *(ii)* 'Abdullaah ibn Mas'oud reported that the Messenger of Allah (Saw) said: The last person to enter paradise will be a man who will alternately walk, stagger and be touched by the Fire. Once he has passed out of the Fire, he will turn to face it and say, Blessed be He Who has saved me from you. Allah (swt) has given me something that He did not give to the earlier and later generations. Then a tree will be raised up for him, and he will say, O my Rabb, bring me closer to this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and drink of its water. Allah (swt) will say, O son of Aadam perhaps if I grant you this, you will ask Me for something else? He will say, No, O Rabb, I promise that I will not ask for anything else. Allah (swt) will excuse him because he is seeing something that he has no patience to resist so he will bring him closer and he will enjoy its shade and drink its water. Then another tree, better than the first, will be raised up for him and he will say, O my Rabb, bring me near to this tree so that I may drink its water and enjoy its shade, then I will not ask you for anything more. Allah (swt) will say, O son of Aadam did you not promise Me that you would not ask me for anything else? Perhaps if I bring you closer to this tree you will ask for more? So the man will promise not to ask for any more, and Allah will excuse him because he is seeing something that he has no patience to resist, so He will bring him closer and he will enjoy its shade and drink its water. Then a third tree will be raised up at the gate of paradise, and it will be better than the first two. The man will say, O My Rabb, bring me closer to this [tree] so that I may enjoy its shade and drink its water, and I will not ask for anything more. Allah will say, O son of Aadam, did you not promise Me that you would not ask Me for anything more? He will say, Yes, O Rabb, I will not ask you for anything more. His Rabb, may He be glorified, will excuse him because he is seeing something which he has no patience to resist, so He will bring him closer. When he is brought close, he will hear the voices of the people of Paradise, and will say, O my Rabb, admit me to it. Allah (swt) will say, O son of Aadam what do you want so that you will never ask Me for anything else? Will it please you if I give you the world and as much again? He will say, O Rabb, are You making fun of me when You are the Rabb al-Aaalameen? Ibn Mas'oud smiled and said, Why do you not ask me why I am smiling? They asked, Why are you smiling? He said, Because the Messenger of Allah (saw) smiled. They asked, Why are you smiling, O Messenger of Allah (saw)? He said, Because the Rabb of the Worlds will smile when He is asked, Are You making fun of me when You are the Rabb of the Worlds? He will say, I am not making fun of you, but I am able to do whatever I will. *[Muslim, no. 187, Kitaab al-Imaan, Baab aakhir an-Naar khurujan]* And in the version of Abu Sa'eed, he adds, Allah (swt) will tell him, ask for such and such and when he has stated his wishes, Allah (swt) will say, You will have them and ten times more. Then he will enter his house [in Paradise] and his two wives from among al-hoor al-'eeyn will enter and say, Praise be to Allah (swt) who has created you for us and created us for you. IRAQ: Saddam Provided More Food Than the U.S. By Ahmed Ali and Dahr Jamail* IPS Friday, December 28, 2007 BAQUBA The Iraqi government announcement that monthly food rations will be cut by half has left many Iraqis asking how they can survive. The government also wants to reduce the number of people depending on the rationing system by five million by June 2008. Iraq's food rations system was introduced by the Saddam Hussein government in 1991 in response to the UN economic sanctions. Families were allotted basic foodstuffs monthly because the Iraqi Dinar and the economy collapsed. The sanctions, imposed after Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait, were described as genocidal by Denis Halliday, then UN humanitarian coordinator in Iraq. Halliday quit his post in protest against the U.S.-backed sanctions. The sanctions killed half a million Iraqi children, and as many adults, according to the UN. They brought malnutrition, disease, and lack of medicines. Iraqis became nearly completely reliant on food rations for survival. The programme has continued into the U.S.-led occupation. But now the U.S.-backed Iraqi government has announced it will halve the essential items in the ration because of insufficient funds and spiralling inflation. The cuts, which are to be introduced in the beginning of 2008, have drawn widespread criticism. The Iraqi government is unable to supply the rations with several billion dollars at its disposal, whereas Saddam Hussein was able to maintain the programme with less than a billion dollars. In 2007, we asked for 3.2 billion dollars for rationing basic foodstuffs, Mohammed Hanoun, Iraq's chief of staff for the ministry of trade told al-Jazeera. But since the prices of imported foodstuff doubled in the past year, we requested 7.2 billion dollars for this year. That request was denied. The trade ministry is now preparing to slash the list of subsidised items by half to five basic food items, namely flour, sugar, rice, oil, and infant milk, Hanoun said. The imminent move will affect nearly 10 million people who depend on the rationing system. But it has already caused outrage in Baquba, 40 km northeast of Baghdad. The monthly food ration was the only help from the government, local grocer Ibrahim al-Ageely told IPS. It was of great benefit for the families. The food ration consisted of two kilos of rice, sugar, soap, tea, detergent, wheat flour, lentils, chick-peas, and other items for every individual. Another grocer said the food ration was the life of all Iraqis; every month, Iraqis wait in queues to receive their food rations. According to an Oxfam International report released in July this year, 60 percent (of Iraqis) currently have access to rations through the government-run Public Distribution System (PDS), down from 96 percent in 2004. The report said that 43 percent of Iraqis suffer from absolute poverty, and that according to some estimates over half the population are now without work. Children are hit the hardest by the decline in living standards. Child malnutrition rates have risen from 19 percent before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 to 28 percent now. While salaries have increased since the invasion of March 2003, they have not kept pace with the dramatic increase in the prices of food and fuel. My salary is 280 dollars, and I have six children, 49-year-old secondary school teacher Ali Kadhim told IPS. The increase in my salary was neutralised by an increase in the price of food. I cannot afford to buy the foodstuffs in addition to the other necessary expenses of life. The high increase in food prices led people to condemn the delays in the ration every month, Salah Kadhim, an employee in the directorate-general of health for Diyala province told IPS. The jobless just cannot afford to buy food. The food ration still represents a big part of the domestic budget, Muneer Lafta, a 51-year-old employee at the health directorate told IPS. Without the ration, she said, families have to go to the market. Because Iraqi families are large, usually six to 12 people, shopping for food is simply unaffordable. I and my wife have five boys and six girls, so the ration costs a lot when it has to be bought, 55-year-old resident Khalaf Atiya told IPS. I cannot afford food and also other expenses like study, clothes, doctors. People in Baquba, living with violence and joblessness for long, are now preparing for this new twist. No security, no food, no electricity, no trade, no services. So life is good, said one resident, who would not give his name. Many fear the food ration cuts can spark unrest. The government will commit a big mistake, because providing enough food ration could compensate the government's mistakes in other fields like security, a local physician told IPS. The Palestinian refugees, who have fled persecution in Iraq at the hands of American occupation forcers and sectarian militias, have been stranded at the Iraqi borders with Syria and Jordan for years. Refugees' commissioner in the Sudan Mohammed Al-Aghbash said that the UNHCR was coordinating with the Arab League in order to provide financing for relocating those refugees in the Sudan. He added in a news report carried by Al-Hayat newspaper based in London that the Sudanese government was committed to settling those refuges in the country out of appreciation to their circumstances . The UNHCR said that around 13,000 Palestinian refugees were still living in Iraq, mostly in the capital Baghdad, where they face daily threats. Meanwhile, Palestinian refugees in Sidon, southern Lebanon, staged a sit-in on Thursday at the UNRWA central offices in the city to protest the Agency's decision to reduce its health and social services. They hoisted placards denouncing the oppressive policy of the UNRWA and said it must shoulder its responsibility. Palestinian refugees in Lebanon constitute 10% of the entire number of Palestinian refugees registered with UNRWA and around 11% of the total population of Lebanon. These and likes (of their gods) are abstract gods and they are no different than the nations of the pagan; which put up these concrete gods of idols with their own hands. All of these are nothing other than those gods which are associated partnership to Allah in the space which He (swt) created. In the same manner sacrificed animals had been presented to the idols in the past, kids are sacrificed for these (modern) gods. Just as in the past, there were sacrificed offerings to the temples; today these sacrifices are also presented offerings in wide measurements for these (modern) gods. Today individuals accept Allah as Rabb however they do not lend their ears to the rules and regulations of Allah, they leave shariah as if they had forgotten it, and they erase it from their memory. At the same time, they accept the commands and wishes of these modern gods to be holy/mukaddas. Where as, the commands and wishes of these so called gods are opposite from the shariah, of Allah. In fact, these gods commands and wishes oppose the shairah of Allah (awj). If this action of the modern jahiliyyah is not shirk and is not acting like a god then how could this be deity? What is associating to Allah? What will allocating a portion from children to the gods which were associated to Allah mean? The classic jahiliyyah were more ethical than the contemporary jahiliyyah. The classic jahiliyyah were attaining gods other than Allah and they were allocating a portion from their kids, animals and crop and they were presenting these to them. Solely, they were doing all this to make these gods to take them closer to Allah. For this reason in their feelings Allah had a high degree. In modern jahiliyyah, other gods have been taken to the higher degree than Allah. For this reason, the modern jahiliyyah bless whatever these gods command and they completely push aside the shariah of Allah. If we freeze and limit the idol worshipping with simple idolatry, to the old idols and individuals worshipping their intercessors before Allah, we will only be cheating ourselves. This is because; only the shape of idols and the way of worshipping these idols have changed. Besides this, the acts which have the attributes of worshipping are more implicated and they have been given new names. But the nature and reality of shirk is still straight and upright although the change in its shapes and actions. We should not forget the reality and be fooled by the shapes and actions! Allah (swt) would want modesty, magnificent and virtuous. However nation or production requires, women going out of her house, revealing her flesh, her provocation towards men (sexual), working in hotels as a client arrangers like the Geisha girls in idol worshipper Japan. Now who is the god whose commands are obeyed? Is this god Allah (awj) or is it false gods? Allah (swt) commands his laws to be sovereign. However an individual or a portion of the nation states No, it is humans that will determine the laws. They are able to continue and state the laws which must be sovereign are also laws determined by humans. Now, who is the god whose commands are obeyed here? Is is Allah (swt), or is it the fake gods? These are only examples, of practices performed all over the world by individuals who are still deviated and have made these practices into tradition. The idolatry which is valid today differing from the idolatry visible by sight, the change in the shape of shirk and idolatry should not fool us. Even if it does change its shape the truth never changes. It is only the Creator who deserves to be worshipped. The partners they associate with God can create nothing. Indeed, they themselves are created. How can they be raised to the status of deities? How come they assign to those deities a potion of themselves and their children? Power and authority are among the most essential attributes of Godhead. The One who can support His servants and protect them with His power is the One who deserves to be worshipped. All their alleged deities are powerless and without authority. How can they give them support when they cannot even help themselves? How are they to be treated as partners with God? The one who can help His creatures and protect them is the one who deserves to be worshiped. Strength, lordship, and sovereignty are among the specialties and among the facts of ibadaah and slavery. Assalamo Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahe Wa Barakatahu. *The Hoax of the Numerical Miracle of the Qur'aan* Written by Dr. Bilal Philips Friday, 04 August 2006 Rashad Khalifa, an Egyptian biochemist educated in the United States claimed to have discovered an intricate mathematical pattern involving 19 and its multiples throughout the Qur'aan and especially in what he calls the Qur'aanic initials which precede 29 chapters (Alif, Laam, Meem, etc.). However, when critics began checking his numbers, they found numerous discrepancies and some outright fabrications in his data The most famous proponent of this idea was Rashad Khalifa, an Egyptian biochemist educated in the United States. According to Dr. Khalifa, there is a miraculous numerical code to the Qur'aan based on its first verse (Bismillahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem), which consists of 19 letters. This miraculous code is supposedly referred to in verse 30 of Chapter 74 (al-Muddath-thir) which states Over it are 19. Based on these two premises, Dr. Rashad claims to have discovered an intricate mathematical pattern involving 19 and its multiples throughout the Qur'aan and especially in what he calls the Qur'aanic initials which precede 29 chapters (Alif, Laam, Meem, etc.). From this discovery, Dr. Khalifa concludes that the complexity of this mathematical code's pattern in a literary work of the Qur'aan's size is far beyond human capabilities, and that it alone constitutes the only real miracle of the Qur'aan which proves its divine origin. He further concludes that 19 and its multiples represent the key to the correct interpretation of the Qur'aan and Islam, and the reason why 19 was chosen is that 19 means God is One, which is the message of the Qur'aan. Many Muslims at first received Khalifa's theories with uncritical enthusiasm. However, when more rigorous critics began checking his numbers, they found numerous discrepancies and some outright fabrications in his data. His claims were based on the number of times a given letter or word occurs in a given soorah or group of soorahs. It was discovered that he would sometimes treat hamzahs like alifs and sometimes he wouldn't, depending on the totals he needed in a given soorah to confirm his theory. Sometimes he counted letters that weren't there, sometimes he failed to count existing letters, sometimes he counted two words as one, sometimes he added to the Qur'aanic text and sometimes he deleted from it, all for the purpose of making the letter and word counts conform to his theory. On top of that, his letter counts changed over time, depending on whether he wanted to establish a pattern for a soorah by itself or as part of a group of soorahs. When confronted with inconsistencies in his data, he began claiming that certain verses had been inserted into the Qur'aan that did not belong there. After this clear statement of disbelief he went on to claim knowledge of the exact date of the Day of Judgment and eventually claimed prophethood for himself. He attracted a group of followers in Tucson, Arizona, but his career was cut short when he was stabbed to death by an unknown assailant in 1990. 1. Although the imperialists claim constantly that this is for humanitarian reasons, the real aims are much more sinister. Leading the pack in the drive to subjugate Sudan is the U.S. government. Sudan was a British colony before winning its independence in 1956. A pro-U.S. regime was overthrown in 1989. The new leader, Omar al-Bashir, and his National Congress Party turned to other countries for supportChina, India, Malaysia and others. During the next decade, Washington punished Sudan for its abrupt political turn, labeling the country a state sponsor of terrorism in 1993 and imposing economic sanctions in 1997. When a small number of anti-government rebels refused to sign a peace agreement to end the Darfur conflict, the U.N. Security Council voted to send a massive peacekeeping force to Sudan. In early 2007, the U.S. Congress passed the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act, tightening the sanctions on Sudan. President George Bush also blocked U.S. commercial bank transactions with Sudan and barred many Sudanese companies from having any financial dealings with the United States in 2007. Due to imperialist pressure, Sudan reluctantly agreed to allow a joint U.N.-African Union force in the western Darfur region composed of 20,000 troops. Despite this concession, the imperialists did not stop their assault on Sudan. On Dec. 18, the U.S. Congress passed a Sudan divestment bill, which will allow state and local governments and investors to cut business ties with the Sudanese government. The House of Representatives voted 411-0 in favor of the bill. The bill targets four economic sectors the provide revenue to the Sudanese governmentoil, power production, mining and military equipment. Some U.S. states and universities have divested already from Sudan. U.S. corporations will be banned from receiving federal contracts unless they can prove they have not worked with Sudan's military and energy sectors. Posing as a bill aimed at ending a humanitarian crisis, it is in reality imperialist intervention in Sudans internal affairs. Unfortunately, a number of activists have been fooled by the government-media campaign of lies. What is called genocide in the capitalist press is in fact a civil war fueled by imperialist powers. The divestment bill is meant to punish Sudan further for resisting imperialisms objectives. The ultimate goal is to overthrow the government of Bashir and replace it with a regime friendly to the interests of the Western capitalists. The so-called Save Darfur Coalition, which has gained prominence in the bourgeois media as the vanguard of a humanitarian movement, is in fact made up of right-wing U.S. Christian evangelicals and Zionists, such as the Christian National Association of Evangelicals and the American Jewish World Service. The imperialist powers also are attempting to use the U.N. Security Council to force more concessions on Sudan's government. On Jan. 1, the joint U.N.-A.U. force is set to take over the peacekeeping mission in Sudan. Bashir has resisted any further infringements on Sudans sovereignty. As a result, the Washington is pushing a 30-day deadline to force Bashir to accept the deployment of U.N.-A.U. soldiers. Failure to submit to the force would mean that Bashir and other government officials will face targeted sanctions. The new round of targeted sanctions is aimed at economically isolating Bashir and his allies with the hope of making them more susceptible to being overthrown by pro-imperialist forces. The U.S. campaign against Sudan is hypocritical and racist. The humanitarian crisis in Sudan pales in comparison to the brutal realities of the U.S. war on Iraq. The same capitalist press that throws around numbers of 200,000 dead and 2 million displaced in Sudan ignores the fact that U.S. policies in Iraq have killed over 2 million Iraqis since 1990. Four million Iraqis are refugees due to the 2003 invasion alone. U.S. policy in Sudan is just one part of a greater global desire to crush all opposition to imperialism. I am not asking anybody to wage a campaign about forcing the Jews out of Palestine. This is a land that holds spiritual value to all three faiths. I am asking for real democracy and the kind that comes without apartheid walls, without ethnic and religious profiling that allows for inadequate healthcare, education, oppression and the disregard of human life; and lies that compromise the leverage of our own sense of moral potency! The body and conscience of the average American citizen is in denial. Why? Because it allows us to grant ourselves an unofficial pardon for the human pain we support with our dollars and dimes.
