[IslamCity] Re: IS SEX EDUCATION TO KIDS ALLOWED IN ISLAM?

2006-06-16 Thread angelofansar
There are several issues. One is should they be educated and the
answer is of course. The second is by whom and by what materials? I
do not think they should be shown graphic pictures in a public
setting. If it is to be done, it should not be done as it is in the
west in mixed classes with boys and girls present at the same time.
The best education is for the parents to answer their children's
questions, but since many parents are not comfortable talking about
it, they want someone else to do it, and then the issues of morality
come in, what should they be told and taught? The parents must have a
say in this and should approve whatever course materials there are in
the madrassa or elsewhere.

This argument against 'sex education' is ABJECT NONSENSE. The
feelings of
puberty will brew within EVERT adolescent, educated or not.

Even more importand virtually every child WILL get educated, if not
by the
school then by their friends in private conversations. (This has

The key is to find a proper educational method that reinforces the

  Answer
There are two aspects to this query:

  A) Education b) morality

Sex education is a topic. It does not only concentrate
on the physical aspects of intimacy but also
highlights issues of HIV, AIDS and other medical
related issues. However, the issue of immorality
cannot be separated from such a topic. It is fact that
a child by nature is adventurous. If a child is
educated on this subject, the urge to test the feeling
of physical satisfaction will brew within them, thus
opening the doors of fornication, masturbation, etc,
etc. In brief the harms of outweigh the benefit hence
it is not permissible even tough there is no video or

U.S.: 3 Guantanamo Inmates Commit Suicide

Three Guantanamo Bay detainees were found dead Saturday after
apparently committing suicide, the U.S. military said. They were the
first reported deaths among the suspected terrorists held at the
base
in Cuba for up to 4 1/2 years without being charged.

Two men from Saudi Arabia and one from Yemen were
found unresponsive
and not breathing in their cells early Saturday, according to a
statement from the Miami-based U.S. Southern Command, which has
jurisdiction over the prison. Attempts were made to revive the
 prisoners, but failed.

One defense official, who requested anonymity because the details
had
not been made public yet, said that initial reports were that two of
the detainees hanged themselves while the third suffocated or choked
 himself.

Pentagon officials said the three men were in Camp 1, the highest
maximum security prison at Guantanamo, and that none of them had
tried
to commit suicide before. That camp was also the location where two
detainees tried to commit suicide in mid-May, when a riot broke out
at
the facility. The two men, who took overdoses of an anti-anxiety
medication they hoarded, were found and received medical treatment
and
 were recovering.

The United States is holding about 460 men on suspicion of links to
al-Qaida and the Taliban at Guantanamo Bay, which has become a sore
subject between President Bush and U.S. allies who otherwise are
 staunch supporters of his policies.

The Defense Department's U.S. Southern Command in Miami, and the
detention center's commander, Navy Rear Adm. Harry B. Harris,
scheduled a briefing for later Saturday.

The Pentagon also postponed the military tribunal of Binyam
Muhammad,
an Ethiopian detainee, originally scheduled for next week. Muhammad
is
charged with conspiring with Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaida
leaders to attack civilians and commit other crimes.

Bush, spending the weekend at Camp David, was notified of the
incident. The State Department was consulting with the governments
of
the home countries of the three prisoners, whose names were not
released.

The military said in its statement that all lifesaving measures had
been exhausted in the attempt to revive the detainees. The remains
were being treated with the utmost respect, an issue important to
Muslims. A cultural adviser was assisting the military.

Though the military termed the deaths suicides, the Naval Criminal
Investigative Service was investigating to establish the official
 cause and manner of death.

A U.N. panel said May 19 that holding detainees indefinitely at
Guantanamo violated the world's ban on torture. The panel said the
United States should close the detention center.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh
Rasmussen and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are among those who
also recently have urged the United States to close the prison.

On Friday, after the prison came up during a meeting with Fogh
Rasmussen at Camp David, Bush said his goal is to do just that. A
total of 759 detainees have been held there, with about 300 released
 or transferred.

We would like to end the Guantanamo - we'd like it to be empty,
Bush
said. But he added: There are some that, if put out on the streets,
would create grave harm to American citizens and other citizens of
the
world. And, therefore, I believe they ought to be tried in courts

[IslamCity] Re: IS IT HARAM TO LOVE SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOUR SPOUSE?

2006-05-09 Thread angelofansar

Al Salaamu Alaikum,
It depends why you love him; and if you really love him or if it is
just an obsession. I don't believe we were given hearts of stone to
perform purely contractual marriages with no feelings between the two
people; and while Islam does provide safeguards and a tahir type of
love, because the two do not know each other before marriage, so they
learn only about their spouses once they do marry, and it is that
other person they learn to trust and to share their feelings and life
with, when there is an overwhelming feeling between two people (more
than just lust) I don't think it should be ignored. It is like when
you meet someone and you are totally comfortable with them even
though you may know nothing about them, in some way, perhaps in
another life they were in your life for a reason. You say the reason
you could not marry the person you love was because of your families;
so what are you now betrothed to? A loveless existence based on
pretense? Allah did not create love to be ignored, you should find a
way to work that out; but I do not mean by committing zina. If you
could work it out between the families, then try to be with the one
you may have been destined for.

 InshAllah...Aslamalakum

 ANSWER
There are two types of love: voluntary and
 involuntary.

The involuntary love is where there is a feeling of
 love in the heart. But
one does not cultivate or pursue this feeling. One
 tries to ignore this
feeling but it causes pain. For this pain, one will be
 rewarded. The more
one makes Sabr, uses one intellect and understands
 that it is not practical
to follow the demands of this love, then one is
 drawing closer to Allah Ta'
ala due to the Sabr (patience) one is adopting.

The second type of love is voluntary. After
 experiencing the feeling of love
in the heart, one contemplates about the beloved one.
 To have this type of
love for someone besides one's wife is sinful. It is
 sinful to intentionally
fantasise about this other woman. If at the time of
 intimacy with one;s
wife, one fantasises about this other woman, then you
 will be considered to
be making Zina. You will get the sin of Zina because
 of your intentions
while your wife will get no sin.

The solution is to ignore this love in the heart. Do
 not contemplate or
fantasise about this person and avoid contact with
 her. If any thought about
this woman involuntarily enters the mind, ignore it.
 Ignoring it causes you
pain then make Sabr, for which you will be highly
 rewarded. If you pass away
in this state, then, Insha Allah, you will receive the
 reward of one who was
martyred in the path of Allah Ta'ala.

Make Du'aa unto Allah Ta'ala to replace the love of a
 mortal with his
eternal love. May Allah Ta'ala grant us all his true
 love, Aameen.

 and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

The transformation of winds that are generally experienced as mild
breezes into powerful storms capable of moving buildings no doubt
forces us to look for the great power making such events happen. The
same rationale discussed in the section on earthquakes is also true
for typhoons, hurricanes and tornadoes: if Allah willed it so, man
would very frequently be confronted by such natural disasters. While
recovering from disaster, human beings could suffer another. In the
Qur'an, Allah reminds man that winds are under His control:

Do you feel secure against Him Who is in heaven causing the earth
to swallow you up when suddenly it rocks from side to side? Or do you
feel secure against Him Who is in heaven releasing against you a
sudden squall of stones, so that you will know how true My warning
was? Those before them also denied but then how great was My denial!
(Surat al-Mulk: 16-18)

However, Allah protects man against hazards. He only occasionally
sends against them violent storms. This is surely to give man a
warning. The intention is to remind people that their ultimate
purpose in life is to be servants of Allah, that they are but
impotent against Allah's might and that they will be judged on the
day of judgement.

AS THE WAR between the United States and Al Qaeda enters its fifth
year, the nature of the armed, transnational Islamist group's
campaign remains misunderstood. With the conflict viewed largely as
an open-and-shut matter of good versus evil, nonmilitary engagement
with Al Qaeda is depicted as improper and unnecessary.

Yet developing a strategy for the next phase of the global response
to Al Qaeda requires understanding the enemy -- something Western
analysts have systematically failed to do. Sept. 11 was not an
unprovoked, gratuitous act. It was a military operation researched
and planned since at least 1996 and conducted by a trained commando
in the context of a war that had twice been declared officially and
publicly. The operation targeted two military locations and a
civilian facility regarded as the symbol of US economic and financial
power. The assault was the culmination of a larger campaign, which
forecast impact, planned for the enemy's reaction, and was designed
to gain the tactical upper hand.

Overwhelmingly centered on the martial aspects of the conflict,
scholars and policymakers have been too focused on Al
Qaeda's ''irrationality, ''fundamentalism, and ''hatred -- and
these conceptions continue to color key analyses. The sway of such
explanations is particularly surprising in the face of nonambiguous
statements made by Al Qaeda as to the main reasons for its war on the
United States. These have been offered consistently since 1996,
notably in the August 1996 and February 1998 declarations of war and
the November 2002 and October 2004 justifications for its
continuation.

Since the attacks on New York and Washington, Osama bin Laden and
Ayman al-Zawahiri have delivered, respectively, 18 and 15 messages
via audio or videotape making a three-part case: The United States
must end its military presence in the Middle East, its uncritical
political support and military aid of Israel's occupation of
Palestinian territories, and its support of corrupt and coercive
regimes in the Arab and Muslim world.

Al Qaeda believes that the citizens of the states with whom it is
at war bear a responsibility for the policies of their governments.
Such democratization of responsibility rests, it has been argued by
bin Laden, in the citizens' ability to elect and dismiss the
representatives who make foreign policy decisions on their behalf.

Al Qaeda is an industrious, committed, and power-wielding
organization waging a political, limited, and evasive war of
attrition -- not a religious, open-ended, apocalyptic one. Over the
past year, it has struck private and public alliances, offered
truces, affected elections, and gained an international stature
beyond a mere security threat.

It has implemented a clearly articulated policy, demonstrated
strategic operational flexibility, and skillfully conducted low-cost,
high-impact operations (Riyadh 1995, Dhahran 1996, Nairobi and Dar es
Salaam 1998, Yemen 2000, New York and Washington 2001, Bali 2002,
Istanbul 2003, Madrid 2004, and London 2005). Of late, this versatile
actor has exhibited an ability to operate amid heightened
international counter-measures.

No longer able to enjoy a centralized sanctuary in Afghanistan
after 2002, Al Qaeda's leadership opted for an elastic defense
strategy relying on mobile forces, scaled-up international
operations, and expanded global tactical relationships. It encouraged
the proliferation of mini Al Qaedas, able to act on their own within
a regional context.

Consequently, and aside from the war in Iraq, between 2002 and 2005
the United States and seven of its Western allies were the targets of
17 major attacks in 11 countries for a total of 760 people killed. In
2001, Ayman al-Zawahiri had explained the cost-effective rationale of
these measures, namely ''the need to inflict the maximum casualties
against the opponent, for this is the language understood by the
West, no matter how much time and effort such operations take. Last
month, he reiterated that commitment and announced new attacks
against the United States.

How can the war be brought to an end? Neither side can defeat the
other. The United States will not be able to overpower a diffuse,
ever-mutating, organized international militancy

Muhammad,

You said you sent your family back home; I want to tell you that
perhaps the spirit is coming after someone in your family, or trying
to warn you or one of them about someone. I was with someone who was
very evil, we lived in one place. I never noticed anything there
thought I was told someone had died in a violent way there before we
lived there. We moved to someplace larger, after a short amount of
time during one of our arguments Jorge told me there was a spirit
that followed me and hated him and it would pick things up in the
shower and throw them at him. He told me the same thing happened in
the former place we lived in. One day while I was in the kitchen, he
screamed stop throwing things at me, I only heard him yelling when
I came out to ask what he was saying I saw a fan moving across the
room aimed at him; he knew I could not have thrown it, I was not even
near it (besides the fact that I would not do anything like that).
At that point he told me these things kept happening. He and his
Mother were involved with spirits and a sourceress told them a spirit
was possessive of me and did not want him with me and that in former
lifetimes I was always with this person (for 800 years!). He told me
who it was, and while in this lifetime I did not know him before he
was killed, he was someone I revered because of his philosophies and
I felt some affinity for. The sourceress also said that after this
lifetime I will be reunited with him once again and not be separated
with him, but this lifetime I have to do something quite important
and had he lived I would not accomplish it. It also turned out that
Jorge was trying to do incredibly evil things to me and the spirit
was trying to warn me. I know I should not have, but I did speak to
a different sourceress who told me things that ultimately saved my
life by getting me away from him. Everything she told me I verified
and it was all true. He was planning to kill me and have another
woman assume my identity and steal the money that I had. I never
would have even guessed such a thing. You may have an evil spirit
near you, but it could also be someone warning you of something.

 Question:

I was living in flat in sharjah, after some month passed i realised
the fingure print with blood was on the wall and on the floor and the
same day the noise started coming, so i left that flat and move to
another one, in that also the same thing happened, then i send my
family back hone, now i am staying with my freind, their also i
realise the noise, but if i stayed alone, then it trouble me lot, i
used to prayer 5 time and receit the quran in morning and while going
to bed i read shura al-muzzammil 7 time shura al-mulk. Now slowing
its reducing. Please could u tell me what step i should take.

 Answer:

 Praise be to Allaah.

These noises and actions may come from the jinn. The jinn are part
of the creation of Allaah whose existence we must believe in, because
Allaah mentions them in many verses of the Qur'aan, and there is even
a soorah named for them, namely Soorat al-Jinn. Their existence is a
matter upon which there is consensus.

 Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:

All nations believe in the jinn and they have had many encounters
with them, which it would take too long to describe. No one denies
the existence of the jinn except for a very few ignorant philosophers
and doctors and the like.

 Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 19/32

Their powers are greater than those of man, as Allaah says
(interpretation of the meaning):

An `Ifreet (strong one) from the jinn said: I will bring it [the
throne of the Queen of Saba'] to you before you rise from your place

 [al-Naml 27:39]

There was a great distance between Sulaymaan (peace be upon him)
and the Queen of Saba' (Sheba).

Allaah has enabled the jinn to change shape and to fly, etc, but
despite their great powers they have no control over the righteous
slaves of Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

Verily, My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) —
you have no authority over them. And AllSufficient is your Lord as a
Guardian

 [al-Isra' 17:65]

And he (Iblees Satan) had no authority over them, except that We
might test him who believes in the Hereafter, from him who is in
doubt about it

 [Saba' 34:21]

Even the Shaytaan acknowledged this and said: [Iblees (Satan)]
said: `O my Lord! Because You misled me, I shall indeed adorn the
path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead
them all.

Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them'

 [al-Hijr 15:39-40 _ interpretation of the meaning]

Rather he has control over those people who agree with his kufr and
follow him willingly, as Allaah tells us (interpretation of the
meaning):)

2005-07-08 Thread angelofansar
Wa Alaikum al Salaam,

Logically, do you think Allah(subhaanahu wa Ta'aala) makes mistakes?
Do you think he creates each and every person according to his own
desires? If so, how can you think you should change your hair if it
is decreed for you the way he wants it? Why do you want to change it?
To be more attractive to men? It is far better to seek his glory than
the glory of men who may only want their fantasies fulfilled. He
made all the colors as he saw fit, he gave the Swedish women their
color, he gave each person what he wanted them to have. Because he
thought his colors were so beautiful, and would be a distraction to
men, he wants you to cover it in modesty. You want to color it to
show it off. Also, L'Oreal has some Arabs as their major
stockholders, some of whom are not regarded as being very good Arabs.

Salaams,

The Houris are in the 5th level of Heaven, which is said to be
guarded by Elijah, who was renamed Sandalphon on his ascent to
heaven. Rather than pray for martyrdom because your own desires will
be realized, pray for Allah's will, whatever it may be to be manifest
in your life. He may have extraordinary plans for you that you
cannot even conceive of yet. Pray for his will, not your own desire
to recline with the Houris. He alone will judge if you will be with
them.
