[JAWS-Users] is there a jaws-friendly money program?

2006-12-02 Thread joanne

What I mean by a money program is a program that will help project how
long it will take to pay bills like credit lines. A friend says that in
Microsoft Money he can, say, put in a figure and an interest rate, and the
program calculates, in months, how long it will take to pay off the bill.
But he's sighted and wasn't sure whether Microsoft Money is Jaws-accessible.
If anyone knows of a user-friendly program like this would appreciate any
help.

Look at it this way my friend. How often do you take out the trash at your
house? In other words if you don't remember the last time you emptied your
recycle bin then it's most likely been too long. Stuff collects in there
and if you don't dump it out you're just wasting hard drive space. Go in
there and open up the file menu. You're on your own at that point to figure
it out. Once you do it will feel good to realize that you did it yourself.

Officially the last program that I know of that JAWS offers support for is
Quicken 2003. I'm sure if this has changed somebody will let us both
 know.
I use that program myself and it works great with JAWS. The sad part is
that trying to find an older program like that is ruff at best.

That is correct. It's just that alt tab no longer moves me between documents

that Jaws will skip whole llines reporting that there is nothing there,

I have a strange question also connected with alt tab. This problem only
happened after a tech support call with Freedom Scientific, and I don't

what they told me to do to cause it but ever since . . .

The only way to move between MS Word documents is with Control f6. Alt tab
only switches between applications, and does not switch me from one doc to
another in the same application. Also, if I close one document in MS Word,
they all seem to close. This is driving my crazy since I have to work with
multiple documents at once. Also, there are many times when Jaws can't
 read
me the text but the window is maximized. It's like something is blocking
 it.
The line just appears to be blank. Sometimes Jaws will read the same line
twice when I'm actually on the line below that one. Anyone know what might
possibly be going on? I don't feel like having our IT person have to
completely reinstall Windows and Office. This happens with Jaws 8 as well
 as
 Jaws 7.1.

Doug -

Um...JAWS 7 _and_ 7.0? That's the same thing.

Anyhow, to uninstall them, first start the version you want to uninstall. Go
to the Start Menu and locate the entry for that version. Press RIGHT ARROW
once and DOWN ARROW until you hear Tools. Then, RIGHT ARROW and either UP
or DOWN until you hear Uninstall. Press ENTER. If you have user settings
for that version, you'll be asked if you want to remove them and if you're
removing the JAWS installation, you might as well do so. Do _not_ opt to
uninstall shared components, since each version of JAWS that you've
installed has installed new shared components that overlay those from
earlier versions and you don't want to remove them.

I have several on-line banking accounts and one of the typical features of
such services is to provide for downloading records directly from the host
site to your PC so you can access the information with your programs on your
PC. I only mention this because I wonder if Money Talks can use files
formatted for MS Money or Quicken. Somehow I doubt this is the case, but
just something I thought I'd pass along to the list.

Bill, are you saying that this program would not work unless one were using
on line banking directly from the bank? Marilyn

[JAWS-Users] figuring credit card debt was:Re: [JAWS-Users] Re: is there a jaws-friendly money program?

2006-12-02 Thread Phyllis Stevens

I, like the original poster, wish to have, not a checking account program,
but a program to figure credit card projected balances when the APR is
plugged into it. Is there such an animal?

[JAWS-Users] Re: Labeling a graphic

2006-12-02 Thread Maria Campbell

There's got to be something wrong with my JAWS and Outlook Express.
I've done a JAWS repair with my disk, with no change.
Even with all graphics on, JAWS doesn't read the numbered graphics as it
should, and I still can get my JAWS cursor to the graphics for labeling.
I've checked my read settings and all appears normal there as well.

While in Outlook Express, press INSERT+V; locate Graphics; press SPACEBAR
until it reads All; press ENTER to save. After you lavel the graphic,
 you'll
probably want to change this back from All to Labeled.

I use Outlook Express, and since installing JAWS 8, JAWS now says all my
messages are unread, even after they are read.
I had this problem once before and was able to label the read graphic.
However I can't find that graphic with the JAWS cursor.
What do I turn on to see that graphic?
 Thank you.
