Hi Steve,
thanks for your help. I'll try your instructions out when I am back at work
on Friday. I haven't been into that startup section of the programs menu for
a while. Forgot what was in there. One more question though, do I also need
to check the item which says run Jaws from the system
Running it from the system tray is personal choice. It has nothing to do
with it being a service or not. I myself like it in the system tray, but
many people don't. Putting it in there takes it out of tab order.

Jason,
The run from system tray isn't relevant for whether JAWS starts before
or after the logon (i.e. whether it's a service or not). By default the
JAWS program is in the Alt + Tab list, which some people like and some
don't. If you don't like it, check the run from system tray checkbox and
it
I think someone who has admin access will have to check the load before startup
option under basics in the options menu. I think that creates the service. When
I was doing an internship, they said JFW wouldn't speak the login prompt, but
it actually did, and that was a Novell one instead of the
Do you have JAWS set to run automatically at startup?

I recall having to do something with the F1 key in order to retreive a
personal email address of
someone on a list. Could someone please refresh my memory on how to do this?
I am using JAWS 7.0

I think this happens because the keyboard is locked. Hitting
CONTROL-ALT-DELETE should get the speech back. At my work, the IT folks
have the computers programmed to lock after 20 minutes of inactivity.
If I am in the office when it happens, I hear JAWS read the screen that
pops up, and then it
nope. I tried it n my system adn still had no speach. I had to power cycle the
thing.

Hi All,
Occasionally, I go to use my Jaws cursor to view something that isn't normally
available with the PC cursor or the virtual cursor, but for some reason, after
I've routed the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, it'll stay locked on the start
button/task bar.
I've tried the opposite, routing
Hi, I am trying to do an online certification for a company that uses a
flash presentation. There are buttons you need to click on to get the video
to continue. I am using jaws 5 and don't know how to get to the buttons. Is
there a way to do this? I also have a braille display, but it isn't
Hello Listers,
I know that we can use adobe reader with Jaws, but can we use adobe writer
with jaws as well?
If so, where may I get it, and is it user friendly?
It would be nice if I could use adobe writer in my office.
Thanks to all,
Carliss
Hi:
I have noticed lately that more and more web sites are placing content and
forms in Flash objects. In most cases, I am not able to click on buttons,
no matter what steps I take. I am using Jaws 6.2. I will be very
interested in the answers you receive.

Donny, the way I do it is to go to address book submenu and arrow through
the choices. I just did yours by entering on sender rather than on the
Jaws list which is one of the choices. marilyn

Visit the JAWS Users List home page at:
When a Web site requires a Flash player update, it will tell you so. Within
the Flash movie content, there will be buttons [Flash movie button, etc.]
that you would left-click once to activate. The latest version of Flash

There are buttons, but jaws is so sluggish I can't get to them. When I have

problem? My computer has 1.4 gig of memory, so I would thin that would
Hi Donnie, Have the message of the person to whom you wish to write open and
do the following.
I just use ALT and the number 1 in the number row, twice quickly, which will
do a Read Only. You then can use SHIFT DOWN ARROW to select that line and
finish with CONTROL C. Then open a new
