Taika, I am sure that what Andrew means is that you close JAWS and then start it up again. I have a similar problem as you and so when it occurs I use the INSERT+F4 to close JAWS and the ALT+CONTROL+J hot key to restart JAWS and everything is then fine. It usually takes about 15 seconds to

I can determine that when I have a new Word Document open, in other words, I have opened Word 2000 and a document is there for the writing, with the silence, in the View Menu I can determine with the Jaws cursor that Normal is not checked and I know it should be. Who can tell me how to check
