Hello Ann;
You can turn off the protected view, if you wish.
You can do this by performing the following steps.
1, open Microsoft Word2010.
2, now, press alt+f=file,
And then up-arrow and enter on options.
3, now down-arrow until you hear;
Trust center.
4, now you need to tab until you hear,
Additionally, a temporary approach is you can hit the F6 key
once or twice and there is a button asking if you want to
edit or view the document in unprotected view. This is what
I do but I don't get a lot of attachments

I commonly use the Insert, F7 command to open a list of links.
When I enter on one of these links, is there a way to have it open in a new
window?
Blessings,
Tom

The fastest way is to tab to the Move to link button and press enter. Now
you're on the hyperlink itself. now press Shift+enter and this will do the
trick.
This works in IE and FF and all flavors of JAWS.

Well, I use IE 8, and honestly, i can't tell the difference between a new
tab and a new window if all I want is a link to be opened in a separate
window from the page I'm currently on. The functionality is the same either
way.
Control+W will close the window regardless, or if you have

Is there a trick to it that I do not know?
All other open program windows stay focused when I alt-tab away and back to
them.
Using windows 7 and the latest jaws 13.
