To me it sounds like the reading pane is on.
This means that when you move up/down in the list of messages they are
displayed in the reading pane and therefore marked as read.
Go to the View ribbon sub menu, Layout sub menu, Reading Pane and set it to off.

VueScan is another alternative.
I have not tried it my self yet but I've heard it's quite good and accessible.
There are 3 versions/licenses: Basic, Standard and Professional.
Basic is free, Standard around $39 and Pro around $79.

You'll have to install the Braille display drivers manually since they're not a
part of JAWS 64-bit.
FS still provides the old Braille display drivers with 32-bit versions of JAWS
though.
Go to your Braille display manufacturer's home page and download the driver for

Outlook 2010 is for sure accessible with JAWS 12.

A lot of languages are available to you.
It depends on what you want to do.
Starting out with Microsoft's .NET platform is probably your best bet.
C# (the most widely used language in the .NET Framework - pronounced C Sharp),
Java and C++ are 3 examples of languages that are very popular.

Also, what's the easiest language for starting developers?

The m4r extension is for iPhone ring tones and thus not recognized by GoldWave.
Rename the file to use M4A as the extension.
Since the M4R is actually just a M4A (MPEG4 audio file) this should work just

I guess Goldwave handles M4A files.

I've heard about GoldWave and that it's supposed to be accessible.
I can't find GoldWave listed under popular applications with JAWS in JAWS help.
