I agree Marilyn. If it was off, the next time you booted up, you'd get the
baloon sound and then a message about items shown in red needing your
immediate attention. That's how AVG Professional works anyway. I'm not
sure about AVG Free

Hi. I just checked my avgfree and it said my e mail scanner is fully
functional. So does this mean my e mail is being scanned? I didn't see any
place to turn it off or on although I went through the menus. marilyn
