The best laptops I think for a blind person are the Dell Latitudes that are dizind spessifically for work, on the HP pavilion and Dell Inspirions for example, you will maybe need to press the Function keys together with the function key which is located usually after the left control key. So if

Yes, Vicki. This is common on some HP laptops. You Can disable that functionality and restore your function keys to normal use by disabling Action Keys Mode in the BIOS... Here is the document, that will help you with it...
