Hello Michele,
After you open the PDF document, press Insert-Spacebar, you will hear a
click, then press the letter O and after that letter D to scan the entire
document. It will open another windows into which, dependeng on the size of
the document, soon will appear the test. From there you can

Well I may have resolved this issue. Following Brian's instructions, I
checked the key combos for find and find/replace. I needed to enter
Control+F for find but Control+H was set for find/replace so I left it.
After closing down and restarting Word, Control+F does bring up the search

Hi Brian, I am having the same problem with Control F not bringing up the
find in Word 2010. If this key combo was set to go to the navigation pane, I
am puzzled as to why we are seeing this issue now, given the age of the
program. Previously, the Control F to do a find command worked fine. I just
Hi Brian,
Good thing Norma replied to your message. I never got it. I'm not sure
what that is all about.
Towards the bottom of your message you said to use Control+r for Replace.
Control+R is for Right Justify.
I'm going to take a stab at your instructions and see where they get me.
Thank
Brian,
I gave it a try. It appeared that Control+F and Control+H were in there,
but I reentered them for good measure. I closed out of Word, and when I
re-opened it, there was no change. When I use these commands, I am in the
Ribbon or a submenu of the ribbon.

Have you checked the memory usage? If it's relying on the swap file
extensively due to insufficient memory, this will negatively affect
performance.

Do not use the latest Skype scripts, use the classic Skype install and it is
on their page, just google download skype desktop and it should be right
there on their front page. Then for scripts, you want to download D Lee's

Hello Norma,
It sounds like you are still getting the navigation pane search feature when
you use the CTRL+F command. If you have some sight and can see the list of

You have other issues to consider:
First, amount of memory.
Second, type of hard-drive.
Memory is pretty self-explanatory.
In terms of hard drives, most laptops come with a 5400RPM drive; whereas
desktops come with 7200RPM drives. This, ess

I find that the Navigation Pane is more useful than the classic Find and

When you press CTRL+F, a task pane called Navigation Pane will appear; if you

Hi Fernando, I really like the functionality you describe by doing the find in
the navigation pane. It seems as though that is what I am currently doing from
what Brian says, so I intend to leave it as is.

I agree with Steve. It's been my experience that amount of memory makes
a more noticeable difference in performance than does the processor when
talking about multitasking those sorts of tasks.
I've also found that having an SSD makes a huge difference in speed of
almost everything. Of course,
