1. Open Configuration Manager with insert 6.
2. Press alt s, followed by h. The HTML options dialogue box appears.
3. Shift control tab once to move to the misc page, and look for a check box

enter.
4. Press either control s or alt F4 and answer yes at the prompt to save

You are correct, these silly subject lines don't really explain the
problem going on. I think what happens is when someone is having a
problem they're so focused on getting it solved that they can't explain it.
But having a more descriptive subject line really does go a long way.

Hi Priscillla,
If you have a question, just ask it.
Don't worry whether it seems trivial, or not, that is what the list is for.
You may not get an answer right away, but there is usually someone on-list
with an answer to your questions. smile
Please remenmger to use more descriptive subject lines in the future.

It doesn't take advantage of it directly but the additional cores help
greatly. Using a Dual core 2.66 Ghz here and it's great.

1. Open Configuration Manager with insert 6.
2. Press alt s, followed by h. The HTML options dialogue box appears.
3. Shift control tab once to move to the misc page, and look for a check box

that talks about element attributes. Uncheck that box with space, and press
enter.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and Intel quad core

2007-10-23 Thread Joseph Lee
Hi there,
From what I heard, it works well with dual (or even quad core) machines. The
only disadvantage that I can see is that JAWS is not that great at scheduling
muljiple threads (say, speech thread, braille display translation thread,
etc.) to run simultaneously (conversely, being able to run one individual
thread per processor core). But according to my experiment, even though my
own system is a Core Solo (one core disabled out of two cores), the
responsivetime is extremely fast (about 20 to 50% faster than traditional
single core CPU's). I'd imagine that it would be about 70 to even 150% faster
on a dual or quad core CPU.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. The statistical figures are approximate.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and Intel quad core

Hi there,
From what I heard, it works well with dual (or even quad core) machines.
The only disadvantage that I can see is that JAWS is not that great at
scheduling muljiple threads (say, speech thread, braille display
translation thread, etc.) to run simultaneously (conversely, being able to
run one individual thread per processor core). But according to my
experiment, even though my own system is a Core Solo (one core disabled out
of two cores), the responsivetime is extremely fast (about 20 to 50% faster
than traditional single core CPU's). I'd imagine that it would be about 70
to even 150% faster on a dual or quad core CPU.
Cheers,
Joseph P.S. The statistical figures are approximate.

Hi folks,

Does Jaws 8 or for that matter Jaws 9 take advantage of the
Intel duel core or quad core processor architecture

TNX?

Hi, John. I don't know about tutorials but one of my relatives set up
microsoft word so I could use it to scan documents. I don't know how or
what steps he did to set everything up but I could ask him if you'd like. I
was using openbook on my old computer but for some weird reason it won't
work with this one.

hi all. does anyone know whether there are any audio tutorials out there
that would take me through setting up omni page so i can use microsoft
 word
to scan documents direct into word rather than opening up omni page.

Hi, John. I'm glad you got the problem solved. I've had to play with things
I had problems with but I usually end up solving that problem.
