I don't see any buttons. My husband says that it looks like a rectangle with
the up and down volume. I should say that this is driving me crazy.

Actualy, the braille blazer will use either. I just plugged in the
cereal to USB adapter and found that it shows up as an unidentified USB
device. I wonder how one assigns it to be seen as a printer?

Depending on the age of your embosser, version of JAWS, and USB to serial
device, you may have to play with some of the settings.
You must check what com port your USB to Serial device installed as, and
make sure that coincides with your embosser. Also check the baud rate,
data bits, stop bit

I have been trying to get a braille embosser connected to my computer
through an USB adapter and have never actually managed to get the system to
work. So, I am all ears on how to cause the USB adapter to function in a way
that allows the software to talk to the peripheral device.

that would actually work on XP. The cable came with a driver that didn't
seem to do crap on an XP box.
Then, it installed it to a simulated com port with a number high enough, I
think, that JAWS wouldn't recognize it s

I used a PowerBraille on a computer with a serial to USB cable for years.
It was a bit wonky getting it set up, but once set up, it worked
flawlessly for years.
