Hi Fanus,
I'm not aware of Windows 2007, perhaps you are talking about Windows 7?
Also, what do you mean when you say you copied Jaws onto a cd, and where did
you copy it from?

Since the CD jaws comes on is already set to auto run this is kind of a non
issue. Now I have in the past been successful in burning a copy of the jaws
install file on to a CD and creating an auto run INF file for the purpose of
doing a tandem session wih say my cousin who lives out of town and I didn't
want to give him my factory copy of the jaws disk.

He runs in demo moe so I can work on his system, below I will paste sample
code.

Naturally change the file name to what ever version of jaws you are using.

Re: [JAWS-Users] can one make cd with jaws auto run

2011-03-13 Thread David Griffith
I think what this poster may be driving at is a Jaws setup similar to that
which can be provided by NVDA on an autorun CD.
The benefit of such a setup is that the portable version of NVDA or
potentially Jaws in 40 minute mode can be autorun from any PC without the
need for sighted intervention. The problem with later Windows OS after XP
is that autorun applications from a USB pen will not, as far as I am aware,
work without sighted help or knowledge of a key sequence to learn without
sight. A screenreader in portable guise starting from a CD automatically is
very useful therefore. Whilst I have such a CD for NVDA I have never made a
Jaws equivalent because of the problem that Jaws needs a pre installed Video
Intercept driver . If the poster knows that the FS Video Intercept driver is
installed on a PC it may well be possible to create an autorun CD based on a
portable version of Jaws. Of course if the licence for Jaws is not held on
that machine he would be restricted to using Jaws in 40 minute demo mode.
If the poster really needs this capacity it could be done but for casual
access to random PCs he may be better off with NVDA as this does not need
the Video Intercept driver. Not a discussion for this list perhaps now.

Re: [JAWS-Users] can one make cd with jaws auto run

2011-03-13 Thread David Ferrin
I did a tutorial some years ago so that a person could install the video
intercept and manage to run jaws in 40 minute mode but to be honest I would
need to check to see if it is still on the server or not. Honestly in
retrospect there wouldn't be much of a difference in doing it that way or
simply installing jaws on the system and using it in demo mode.

Hi all, Can jaws perform the following task:

1. go directly to the first place marker when a web page
loads?
2. Usually, jaws will indicate us about the numbers of
headings, lings
and frames. Can we instruct jaws to indicate us about other
elements
such as lists or form fields?
3. Is there any keystroke that will tell us about the number
of lines,
headings etc?
4. By using jaws, can I go to the next unchecked check box?

I'm using JAWS 11 which I have just installed and when I reply to
messages it appears as if there's nothing on the screen. It doesn't read
the message I'm replying to nor what I write in reply. The JAWS cursor
will read what's on the screen, so I know there's something written. Has
anyone experienced this and if so, how can I fix the problem?

I'm using XP Pro.

Hello there;

you can;
export the address book
as a comma text separated values file and import it into whichever e-mail
program you are using.
so, first while in OE, you need to export the address book,

once the process is complete,

you then need to copy the file, to a thumb drive, or external media,
and take it over to the windows7 machine, and import the file into whatever
email client your using.

Re: [JAWS-Users] transfering OE Contacts to WLM contacts on a new laptop

2011-03-13 Thread David Whitehead
Hello there;

you can;
export the address book
as a comma text separated values file and import it into whichever e-mail
program you are using.
so, first while in OE, you need to export the address book,

once the process is complete,

you then need to copy the file, to a thumb drive, or external media,
and take it over to the windows7 machine, and import the file into whatever
email client your using.

Hi folks,
I have a new laptop running Windows7 with JAWS 12.
On my old computer I used Outlook Express.

How do I transfer my OE contacts from the old computer to WLM on the laptop?

thanks.

Hi Rick
Ok, sorry, windows 7. I installed win 7 and now want to
install JFW 12. I do not have the JFW12 CD because I
downloaded the file from the site. Instead of having to get
sighted help to help me in win 7 to get to the d-drive and
execute the file, I was wondering if it is possible to put
it on a CD and make it auto run so that it can start the
jaws install automatically.

Regards
Fanus

Hi Fanus,
I'm not aware of Windows 2007, perhaps you are talking about
Windows 7?
Also, what do you mean when you say you copied Jaws onto a
cd, and where did

you copy it from?

Hello Listers
I upgraded my hard drive and I am about to install windows
2007. I copied jaws onto a cd. Is there a way to let this
cd

auto run to install jaws?
Regards
Fanus
