From a conversation with Jim Ellsworth, as I recall it. Donggkles are
provided when JAWS users need repeat refreshes of authorizations.
the donggle essentially hardwires JAWS in current and future versions to
one's computer, avoiding the problem of authorizing with each upgrade.
It's not hard to see that the donggle, unless it has built in fraud
protection, could enable anyone to use JAWS without a license. So how
do I know? I had to request re-ups to my update authorizations twice in
the last six months due to computer issues. Yes, the donggle is
interesting. Anything to streamline the somewhat cumbersome
authorization process is welcome in my house.

Go into your Program Files or Program Files X86 folder, I'm not sure which
1, find the Alternative Flash Player folder open it. Arrow down there
should be an, unins000.exe, entry. Press enter on it that should do it.

Or, go into your control panel, open Programs features, arrow down to the
alternative flash player entry, open your context menu, press enter on
uninstall / remove, follow the prompts.

You didn't say what operating system you're using but, 1 of the above should
get it done. HTH

[JAWS-Users] Windows Media Player Issues

2014-09-15 Thread Michele Thredgold
Hi all. I have having serious issues with Windows Media Player
on a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7 and the latest JAWS update.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting Media Player to work
long enough to find out what version it is. Whenever I try to
use it, my laptop starts to whirl as though Media Player is
taking up all the memory or all the processor's energy. Often,
it takes over a minute for a track to start playing or for the
program to open. It often comes up with the message: Windows
Media Player is not responding as well.

Were I to uninstall it from my laptop, how can I access it from
scratch? Which version is the most accessible?

Thanks.

Michele

In short I was trying to scan a file that didn't need to be scanned. Sounds

I just scanned the smart phone file which natively is not accessible, but
after trying the enhanced OCR feature in 16 it reads perfectly. I think I
will post it on the server so people can download it for testing purposes.

So the problem at this point is the error message which they will try to

The NFL Audio Pass works very well with Jaws 15.

There is a free trial through September 15, 2014, price for a one year
subscription after that is only $39.99.

1.You get to listen to all pre-season games.
2. You get to listen to all regular season games.
3. You get to listen to all playoff games.
4. You get to listen to the superbowl.
5. You get to listen to the last three years of all NFL football
games.
6. You get to choose the hoem or away broadcasters on every game.
7. You can listen from now through July 31 2015 before it renews on
August 1, 2015, at the price of $39.99.

Personally, I think this is a cheap price for all the NfL games, very
clear audio of the games.
Let me know here on the list if anyone else buys a subscription like i
am going to do, let me know what you think.
sorry i did not post this sooner, I just found out about it.

That's great if all you want to do is to listen to the live game, but
the NFL Audio Pass gives you access to a lot more content, which can be
helpful if you do fantasy football. Also, the game rewind feature is
neat if you just are not available to listen to the game when it is
being played.

Thanks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] the OCR component

2014-09-15 Thread Flor Lynch
In the meantime, I have pdf's that contain both text and inaccessible
images of text on different pages in the same file. Thus, as the file is
rather large as well, it doesn't mreally make sense to OCR the whole
document: that, as I indicated, is a mix of images and text.

I'm using Adobe X Reader on windows7. How may I select just such a page,
or pages, which could benefit from the COCR treatment? (I have been able
only to get limited OCR results using the Adobe full screen (ctrl+l)
feature, to display the one page and no other. now there may be an
answer lurking somewhere in the Accessibility settings or the Reading
panel... but, if anyone knows, pray point me there. TA.

Here is what I have come up with and I just spoke to Eric directly.
Until he
sent me the file demonstrated on the pod cast there were no
non-accessible
PDF files laying around here so I was testing it on what was available
to

me.

In short I was trying to scan a file that didn't need to be scanned.
Sounds

silly I know but a person works with what they have handy.

I just scanned the smart phone file which natively is not accessible,
but
after trying the enhanced OCR feature in 16 it reads perfectly. I
think I
will post it on the server so people can download it for testing
purposes.

So the problem at this point is the error message which they will try
to

reproduce.

Guess that's why we do betas so people like us can find little issues
such

as this.

[JAWS-Users] Opening attachments in Outlook 2010

2014-09-15 Thread Liuda Balcius
I was on the phone for 3 hours today with Freedom Scientific and Microsoft.
Since that conversation, I cannot open an attachment like I always did and
it also says now, read only. Does anybody know what setting I can change to
rectify this problem or what keystroke is necessary?

I use JAWS 14, Outlook 2010 and Win.7.

Thanks in advance.

Where did you hear that? JAWS16 is still only in beta version. So it
would not be recommended to uninstall the latest official version of
HJAWS.

Please contact support it you feel it is not installing correctly and

Hi

English and Icelandic. Jaws does not switch over to my Icelandic voice

Don't sapi 4 Synths support language detection?
