I did also download the app and can not figure it out. What was quite
interesting was when using I.E. there was an option to upload for file
checking. I did that once and received a report of everything that was
discovered but not fixes. Just a list of how many and what kind of errors. I
have not been able to duplicate that.
This is very similar to the very old dos program that I used at work. At the
time I had one boss that always complemented me on my writings, I never told
him that I had computer help

Hi!
I went to www.grammarly.com
And downloaded the app.
I can’t quite access everything to correct my mistakes, but it looks like it
is a cloud storage for your documents with unlimited space. When I uploaded
my article to Grammerly, it got saved in the Grammarly cloud service. I can
get on any computer, and type that URL, and get access to the article I
uploaded. You can create an account, and it looks like you can store all of
your articles in a cloud service of Grammerly!
This is wild, please tell me if you figure out how to navigate through an
article that you are writing in Grammerly, and how you get to the mistakes
and how to correct them.
I want to use it free, I do not want to buy the premium. I did add it to
Chrome as an extention. I am not sure what that will do LOL! I love learning
about new services like this!

getting this new machine. I do remember that Ccleaner was pretty much the
best out there though and it did seem to make some minor improvements on my
XP machine. That said what you described doesn't sound like a glitch at all.
It just sounds as if the screen layout has changed slightly, so it's JAWS
not focusing on the info you want right away because it's no longer in the
same area of the screen.

Re: [JAWS-Users] facebook

2017-06-24 Thread JM Casey
If you type in the facebook username exactly as it appears in the search
box, they will (probably) come up if they are your friend. Just a first or
last name is sometimes not enough. Also make sure you select search for
"people", which will narrow down results if it's needed.

Sometimes I have found friends, sometimes not. It depends on how they list
themselves. Sometimes I have been able to pull them up by also placing a
zip code in the search bar, but that doesn't always work either.

Best wishes.

I haven't used that programme in ages. Is it any good with Windows 10? As
in, does it actually do anything useful? My friend/pC builder insists that
these programmes are pretty useless now, but I haven't looked into it since
getting this new machine. I do remember that Ccleaner was pretty much the

Re: [JAWS-Users] grammar checking software

2017-06-24 Thread Adrian Spratt
Fernando gives a nice tutorial on JAWS' Text Analyzer, which I'm sure is your
answer and makes me think I'll try it again. but you do an injustice to MS
word's grammar check. Beyond semicolons, it alerts you when a sentence might
end in a question mark, when subject and verb might be inconsistent, when there
are extra spaces, and to a slew of other possible errors. In fact, it offers so
much information that I turn off certain features when I do a grammar check.
For example, Microsoft doesn't like reflexive pronouns. The first time while
I'm checking a document that it makes that complaint, I press alt-g to stop it
from picking up on them.

Hi Helga,

You can quickly toggle Text Analyzer on or off by pressing JAWS
KEY+SPACEBAR, A, or by using Quick Settings. In the Text Analyzer group of
Settings Center, you can configure which type of inconsistencies you want
JAWS to detect, as well as if indication when navigating to a inconsistence
when the feature is enabled with speech or sounds.
Even when you're not using this feature actively, you can go to the next or
prior inconsistency by using WINDOWS+ALT+I or WINDOWS+ALT+SHIFT+I.
To know commands and options for this feature in detail, see the Text
Analyzer Group in the Settings Center branch of the JAWS help topics.
