It did work- and I tried it because I could not believe that it possibly
would work! I can not figure out why in this circumstance (NVDA running) it
brings up a menu instead of launching the program as normal. How did you

Elaine- Is it possible that when re-installing 9, you had forgotten by then
that after initially installing JAWS9 and before reformatting you had
changed the default virtual cursor setting to 'from virtual cursor'? That
change only began with version 9 and it would be easy to not have noticed or
