JAWS 14 also comes up strange for me. When I told it to live in the Task
Tray, and then hit Insert-J to bring up the JAWS menu, my arrow keys
wouldn't work in that menu. I'd press an arrow and nothing would happen. I
could force an option to be clicked by dragging the JAWS cursor around, but

all seemed to be there except 4.
It went from 3 to 5.
Thanks.

Good Morning,
I've never been able to make convenient OCR work. When I hit Insert-Space,
O, S, or any other option, JAWS pauses a few seconds and then says JAWS.
Nothing else happens. On this machine I'm running public beta 3.
I've always had an Internet connection when I installed JAWS

If there's a better forum for this, or we should be discussing it off list,
I'd be happy to do that.
I've used JAWS to read basic PDF files, ones with practically no formatting.
For instance, a novel in
converted by Kurzweil 1000, OCR,and would read well thus if converted by
Open Book, etc.

Hi Flor,
Thanks
I agree. This is a potentially useful feature to me. Many people at work
send me PDF documents directly from the Fax machine. I have no idea what's
in the document. This convenient OCR should help me identify it.
Also, Eric Damory's use of the OCR to read a DVD player screen has potential

but I did not have many years using SQL.
Best of luck.

I have been asked to add Transact SQL to my skill set. When I last looked at

Hi,
I'm having a problem with a date field on the site I use to pay for my
Amazon credit card. JAWS announces that the date field is read only.
Amazon sets the date for your payment to the end of your billing cycle, but
I want to pay it sooner, and I can't seem to find a way to make the change.

In the Utilities menu for JAWS, there's a Sound Cards submenu. Your default
sound card is checked, but you can arrow down the list to select others.

You need to make certain that all JAWS windows are closed, not just the one
you brought up with Insert-F2. If you got that message, then the system
thinks that another JAWS window is open beside that one.
Close them all, then try Insert-F2 followed by S for script manager.
Make sure you're on
The only way I know how to do this is to make sure that the remote computer
also has JAWS on it.
Does it have JAWS?
If there are other ways to do this, I'd like to learn.
