The reason I use itunes file sharing, I transfer zip files that are each
650mb in size. It would take a lot longer to use such things as dropbox
etc. to transfer them into voice dream reader.

You don't even have to use iTunes for that. Voice Dream can receive
files from cloud storage services like Dropbox and iCloud (not sure
about Google Drive), and you can also use other apps on your phone
like File Browser to act as an intermediary between your phone and
computer.

Hi Andy!
If I remember correctly, they are for iTunes 12.1, or close to that.
When he did these tutorials, you could still simply press CTRL+9 to listen
to thousands of radio stations. That is gone in iTunes 12.7. It probably
has

changed, since he did them. You cannot use iTunes 12.7 to download media

Hi,
I've seen nothing in writing that would indicate such and would find such an
assertion suspect in the highest degree as it doesn't seem like it's serve
its maker's purpose to even state such a thing if indeed they even had.

Just my two cents no one asked for.
Speaking of JFW and iTunes I made Apple Accessibility aware of a bug whereby
when syncing something like music or ringtones if you choose sync selected
tracks or tones screen readers are unable to read the resulting list view
from which you can check your selections. If others are so inclined feel
free to join in drawing Apple's attention to it in hopes it can be fixed as
they acknowledge it's their issue not one lain at the feet of screen
readers.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS and Itunes.

2016-07-27 Thread Justin McDevitt
Hello listmembers,

I may have presented this issue in a past post.

Within the past few days, I am no longer able to move songs around in recently
created Itunes playlists. Prior to this I used a command, (I believe Control-L)
(right arrow once and then down-arrow one time to songs, removing the Artwork
image. At this point, I would be able to move songs around.

An alternative is to copy the songs into a blank playlist, though having a
short-cut command per the above process) is handier than having to go through
this copy-paste step.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Best, Justin All

[JAWS-Users] Jaws and itunes issue.

2016-04-23 Thread Justin McDevitt
Hello Listmembers:

Up until a week or so ago, the music tab (that is my entire song archives in
Itunes was at the top of a treeview. To move to Playlists, I arrowed down to
its position in the treeview. Now, in order to do this, I tab about 25 times
to Playlists. Also, on a related note, my general song titles are listed
under My Music, whereas until recently songs were listed under Music.

This may be the source of the issue, where there is a specific prompt or
keystroke to have my overall song titles re-grouped under Music.

I'm not sure that I've explained this issue adequately enough. Nonetheless,
any help would be appreciated.

Best to all, Justin

I spent two days, well, let's be honest, five days of non-stop learning, and
I only learned two things so far lol.

How to add just one song and how to sync apps I have in itunes over to my
phone. Yes, there is still lots more I should learn but good start so far.

Tying it back to jaws, since I don't remember any version before this one, I
will say so far it's working well for me.

May I ask a question? Can I search for a rington or a song, etc via itunes,
or do I need to use the app store, download it there and then sync it, which
wouldn't make sense.

I guess using itunes, instead of using the app store, can I just do it

I remember the itunes keystrokes briefly that someone posted a while back,
CTRL 1 etc, but I no longer have them notes.

So, to answer my own question, would I need to go to the itune store? If so,
how do I get there is it CTRL 2? Jaws doesn't say nothing for me, when
pressing CTRL 2.

The latest's ITunes works very well with Jaws 15.

I have an IPod, I can not give my opinion on an iPhone.
Just go to ninite.com and use your space bar to check iTunes, and then press
the enter key on get installer.
Ninite will install the latest's iTunes and set it up on your computer.
Listen to the Freedom scientific podcast on how to use jaws with iTunes to
learned how to do different things.
You are mainly going to use the f6 key, the tab key, space bar and enter
keys, and the arrow keys.
I hope this helps...

It is best to get it from the source.

working fine here so that's at least enough info to confirm that the problem

Recently, I did have a similar problem with the last build of Jaws and Word

If you have time, I'd contact Freedom Technical Support immediately.
Obviously, something isn't right. If you don't get satisfaction from the

Ken,

I was told to go into Add Remove programs to find out the version of
iTunes that I was running. That did not tell me anything. So the only
way

I figured out to do this was to open the Start menu, select All Programs,
Select iTunes, Select About iTunes and a text file opened in Word. As I
read down through the document, I found a section labeled What's new in
iTunes 8.1 Maybe if you are running some other version, you can find
a

clue like this in the file you have.

As far as downloading Version 8.1, I did a search in Google for download
iTunes 8.1 and found the following URL:

Hi. all
FYI For those who might wish to get the new iTunes, you might want to
think about not doing so.
In iTunes 8.1 if you wanted to see your songs, you could tab until
you got to the list and them use up or down arrow to read your list.
jaws did nice job reading each song and if you wanted you could press
space bar to play or stop.
In iTunes 8.2, you can no longer do so.
Now you need to tab to get to the list and you can no longer up or
down arrow. If you are in the list, pressing space bar will play a
song. If you want to go to the next, you need to tab to you get to the

next button.

Jaws
will not read the song title. You will need to do shift tab to go back
to the list or tab to be there. It is complicated now. I suggest
keeping iTunes 8.1. It is to late for me, because I upgrated.
Kind Regard

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and iTunes 8.2

2009-06-11 Thread Annette Carr
Ken,

I was told to go into Add Remove programs to find out the version of
iTunes that I was running. That did not tell me anything. So the only way
I figured out to do this was to open the Start menu, select All Programs,
Select iTunes, Select About iTunes and a text file opened in Word. As I
read down through the document, I found a section labeled What's new in
iTunes 8.1 Maybe if you are running some other version, you can find a
clue like this in the file you have.

As far as downloading Version 8.1, I did a search in Google for download
iTunes 8.1 and found the following URL:

Yes, I am in agreement with you. No matter if you are using JAWS or
JAWS with Jtunes, iTunes 8.2 has a lot of accessibility problems.
Sticking with version 8.1 is your best bet.

 Hi. all
FYI For those who might wish to get the new iTunes, you might want to
 think about not doing so.

[JAWS-Users] jaws and ITunes

2008-02-29 Thread Chris Doris
I never thought I would use this but I have come upon some free
content I am intersted in that requires ITunes to be installed on the
computer to download and, I guess, access the content.

I know that there are commercial jaws scripts for ITunes available
but I do not see myself using ITunes a whole lot and certainly not
enough to warrant purchase of scripts.

There used to be free scripts for ITunes avaialble but the page gives
a 404 File not found error.

I am out of the loop with this some and would like to know if ITunes
has become more accessible with jaws by now or if there are any free
resources and/or hints to use ITunes with jaws without the
aforementioned commercial scripts.

Also, which version of ITunes is the most accessible and which will
work with the free scripts if still applicable.

Thanks very much.

Doris

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and ITunes

2008-02-29 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hi, you might as well download the J-Tunes scripts anyway and just run
them in 10 minute mode. That's what I would do if I find myself in a
situation where, although I have iTunes on my laptop, I wouldn't use it
enough to warrant purchase of the scripts. Also, even if you did go
beyond the demo period, you can still use the scripts, but you'll be
constantly nagged until you, as I discovered by accident, restart JAWS,
even though the documentation states that a reboot of the computer is
necessary. Hope this helps.
