I am using Windows 10 and Office 365.
When I receive attachments in an email I open the email then SHIFT + TAB
once to move me up to the first attachment on the left.
Then you can either press ENTER to open the attachment or use your
Applications key to do the same.
If there are more than one attachment after your SHIFT + TAB you can simply
right arrow to the next & the next attachment & repeat the ENTER to read it.

Hello,

When in a new message, a message being forwarded, a reply to a message or
when putting the message into editing mode you can use Alt followed by N
followed by A followed by F. Think of it as new attached file. You can
select the file or files to be attached (you might need to browse to find
them) and then tab to the Insert button and press spacebar.

Take care.

Inamuddin,

To attach a file,
You can press alt + h + A F also.
Tab to,
TO MY document heading, IF CLOSE OPEN IT WITH THE RIGHT ARROW.

Tab to, when you recognize folders in your documents.

Locate the one you want.

Then, tab to when you hear Tools.
Tab once more to the attach or insert button.

The next window is your edit box in the email body.

Shift tab once and the attachment should be highlighted or read out to you.

Tab back to the message body, when done, send it out.

You can practice by sending attachments to your self.

Re: [JAWS-Users] reading attachments in Outlook 2003

2014-12-09 Thread Brian Lee

HTH,
Jorge

Subject: [JAWS-Users] reading attachments in Outlook 2003

Hi,

I have directions which tell me to open the email, go to the attachment, and
press insert A, in order to read the attachment. I'm using Jaws 13 and
Windows 7. This isn't working. The only way I can read the attachment is to
go to the file menu and press N to save it, then find it in Documents, and
then read it. Can someone give me a faster way to just open the attachment
and read it?

Miriam

Wondering if someone on this list could confirm something for me. If you
have following configuration,

Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit;

MS Office 2010;

JAWS 14 and/or 13

Please try the following. Send your self a MS Word document. When the
message arrives in your inbox, hit enter to open it. Then use either insert
(JAWS key) A or tab until you hear list of attachments. Arrow to the Word
Attachment you sent yourself and hit enter.

Hopefully you have all default setting in your trust center enabled and the
document should open in protected view. Now see if you can read the document
as is in protected view using standard JAWS reading functions such as arrow
down one line at a time or insert down arrow key to read the document. Don't
use the JAWS cursor to read the document. If this works, hit Ctrl key to
silence JAWS then hit F6 key to see if a message pops up telling you the
document is in protected view. If you hear this message, see if you can
arrow down to an enable button, press space bar, and then read the document
in unprotected view and try any type basic editing function such as delete a
few characters, or type in it.

Please let me know your experience on or off list and what version of JAWS
you did this with.

Thanks

Al

Press f6 until you hear the message indicating that this document may have come
from an unsafe internet location. Right arrow to the enable editing button and
press space or enter. In cases that this does not work, you can reach the
option, how we use to access the word tool bars. Press alt and then control tab
over to the message that reads, something like this document may have come from
an unsafe internet location. Press tab to enable editing button and press
space or enter.

Kimsan,

Thanks for confirming this, hopefully others will too. Maybe there is
some type setting on Outlook that can cause this but I would be
clueless as to what. I could swear that this procedure worked when I
was using JAWS 13 but since carrying out some of the repair steps FS
suggested in JAWS 14, 13 no longer works either. Got to be a simple
answer somewhere
