Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have moderate skills but having been
surfing the web for years. I've had one local web site (a city one) that I
just could never get passed the home page. Never knew precisely what the
problem was, just that I couldn't access it.
Anyway I used this site and

This morning I'll be adding a file sent in by Rick on computer terms. Some
of you may find it interesting or at least I hope so any how. I'm placing
it under the MISC heading. This is some of the stuff I had to learn when I
got in to this game more years ago than I wish to mention.

In other words, could I have leoquence as my default

No, that wouldn't be possible, but it is easy enough to change your
synsethizer once you get into a different application by doing a insert

I'm probably missing the obvious, but I'll take a deep breath and ask what
may be the most basic question of the year. I tried to copy selected songs
from one of my CDs last night, and could not seem to understand the process.
This whole music adventure is new to me, so forgive

I used the program several years ago and found it to be some what JAWS user

the menu's on the menu bar. I don't have the program any longer, so,
hopefully some one else is using the program on this list and if not,
Hi Shirley,
I am far from someone who knows it all, however, I can try my best to help

I should warn you, that 5 is the only version of Roxio that I have been able
to understand and use successfully.

Hi:
yes this program is very jfw and we friendly.
keep in mind though that if your dvd is protected you'll then need to use
something to remove its protection such as anydvd or something
but anyway referr to the links below to download the program and guides if you
wish.
You're correct in that CDEX is extremely easy to use. I use version 1.4
myself which takes no install at all. Just run it and hit F8 to extract the
songs as wave files and F9 for MP3 files.

Here are the instructions I've saved for quite a number of years and now of
course since it has been brought to my attention I will post them up on the
site. I admit at first thinking that it was sort of silly but then realized
they are very good for certain applications, directions follow.
It does work with version 8.0 for sure, I just tried it out personally.

Hi Shirley,
Well, I use CDEX, but I would imagine that the procedure would be
similar in any such program.
When you place a CD in the drive, you are presented with a list view of
the tracks. You simply use regular Windows commands to select the
tracks uyou want to rip. If you want to rip the
Sorry but I don't think those terms are included in that particular file.
Basically a wave file is in an uncompressed format for example CD quality.
Where as an MP3 file is in a compressed format essentially with the
frequencies that are supposed to be out of the range that humans can hear

I would advise you not to use Windows Media Player, as they are very limited

the files, then save it in MP3 format.
In order to get CD or near CD quality, you should
