Hello all-
My computers are old and do not have touch screens. I keep hearing about the
touch cursor. Is ther any use for them for machines that do not have a touch
screen? Is there a link where I can learn more about using them with JAWS
and which versions work with them?

For purposes of inserting a link to a Webpage, I've found the method described
by Fernando to work every time: Copy the Webpage's address with alt-d followed
by control-c, then Select the text in the document, press control-k, control-v,
then enter.
Two points to keep in mind. First,
We have all seen the phrase, "Click here for more information."
How do I link a web site to the word Here, in that phrase, or, another
example, a link to the phrase, Leave A Reply, linking that phrase to a site
where one can leave a reply?
Thanks.

Hello again,
I understand how to manually format for font, underline and bold with the
control key keystrokes, but was wondering how to make the first sentence in
a paragraph a header.
Thanks again.

Since the link is to a web page by default, if you want to link to an e-mail

Windows Defender works well with JAWS, though you may need to use the touch
cursor to review text that is not in focus.
If you want a quick overview of the state of Windows Defender, start
Microsoft Powershell and run the get-mpcomputerstatus command.

the Taskbar and bring up the MAGic GUI then I press the space bar to turn

Hey.
Yes, there is. Some of the new Windows app require the use of the touch
cursor to read or even activate things on the screen. It's an annoyance but
something everyone just has to get used to or live with. You should read
about it in your JAWS help files.

Hello Judy,
If you are inserting a link to a web page, I have found it better to use the
JAWS cursor in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. Here are the steps you
might want to try:
In the Word document where you want the words that people see, start by
using CTRL with K.
Type in the web address
Shift alt and left allorw for one, right arrow for the rest of th eheading
levels.
For heading one, shift alt left arrow.

Hello, All,
Thank you so much for this.
Regarding e-mail hyperlinks, I found that all I have to do is to, after
control-K, I type in the recipient address, and that works. No choosing
among any other buttons. I am using Word 2010, in Windows 10.
Thanks!

Yes, but that way your folder wouldn't disappear. There must be some
interaction between jaws 2018 or windows 10 and your software that is
causing the folder to disappear. If that is true then your problem won't go
away until the offending software is changed. Not much you can do about
that.
Please forgive me if this question has been asked previously.

perform the antivirus task from the website.
The settings and the scans should be done from the Sophos Home website.
