I replied in the other thread of this same topic before I saw this

I would suggest a couple of things. You can try the jshow -c yoursubname
command to make sure that the subroutine is recognized in one of the
libraries. If it is currently being called I would be surprised if this
didn't return showing the lib file that the subroutine is in. You can also
try to
Is there a way to install Jbase 3.x on a machine running 64bit Win 7?
We are trying to hold off using Jbase 5 as we have a number of clients
who cannot afford to upgrade computers right now, but as their machines
break it is getting hard to find 32 bit machines.

Hi Richard
If you have a W7 64 bit machine then install jBASE 5.2 and be a happy person.
If an old 32 bit machine fails then put in a 64 bit machine and jBASE 5.2. New
Windows of Linux systems are not expensive these days and they are all 64 bit.
Go jBASE 5.2 and be happy.
I am biased of
Richard,
As with Windows 8, the best way is to set up a virtual machine and run jBASE
3.x on that using either Windows XP or, preferably, Windows 2003 Server.
There are a number of free virtual machine solutions out there so it
shouldn't be too difficult. There are also tools to allow you to
You might want to consider virtualizing their existing 32-bit machines and
then running that on the 64-bit machines. Are these workstations or
servers?

The keys program seems to work fine. How can I set a different terminal
emulation in jbase? Also, how can I tell what emulation are available in
jbase. I was thinking of trying different ones.

It doesn't matter that the jBASE server is on Linux. You can easily
virtualize Linux servers then run those on Windows Hosts, Linux Hosts or
VMware Hosts. The host is 64-bit while the virtual machine (VM) remains
32-bit. I have done this numerous times and it works very well. We just
The link you posted is for JED. Also, everything works when I am in a
program at an input prompt. It only does not work at the jsh prompt. Is
there a way to tell what the jsh prompt is looking for? The keys function
is fine, but it does not tell me what it is looking for, just what it is
