Re: Help with failed builds on ci.jenkins.io

2019-10-14 Thread Slide
It looks like the deleteDir step has been removed from buildPlugin, see
[1]. I had a PR in flight to dump (at least on Windows) what process had
the .git directory locked, see [2]. I think this should still looked into
in case there are those using jgit in production in the wild.

on a related not are we using jgit on cijenkins.io - if so that smells like
a file leak in the plugin which could cause some serious issues for other
users - esp if doing any branching / releasing as part of the build..

if not - then I am wondering why the git process has not terminated (which
would be another big issue for other users)

Re: Help with failed builds on ci.jenkins.io

2019-10-13 Thread Richard Bywater
Hi everyone

Just wondering if someone with jenkins-infra repo write permissions is able
to take a look at and hopefully approve
https://github.com/jenkins-infra/pipeline-library/pull/115 which removes
the deleteDir() from buildPlugin. I'm hoping that merging this PR will
clear up the builds on my plugin as I'd like to be sure that my changes are
happy before merging to master :)

Thanks
Richard.

Thanks Victor. So as far as I can tell once the Windows issue gets fixed
then all should be fine?

Richard.

There is a known issue with the windows delete step:
- https://github.com/jenkins-infra/pipeline-library/pull/116

You can see the error in BO:

Help with failed builds on ci.jenkins.io

2019-10-11 Thread Richard Bywater
Hi all

I need some help in trying to work out whether the failing builds on
ci.jenkins.io for HTML Publisher Plugin is code related or infrastructure
related.

When built locally on my machine (both on Windows and also a WSL Ubuntu
install) there are no issues. However when built on ci.jenkins.io there
seems to be various errors that I'm having trouble tracking down. (e.g.
from
https://ci.jenkins.io/job/Plugins/job/htmlpublisher-plugin/job/PR-49/2/consoleFull
it
looks like there was a test failure on JDK8 but there's no record of what
the test failure was etc. except for a bunch of errors from JDK7 which I'm
assuming is because something killed the process due to the other "Sending
interrupt signal to process" messages?)

Does anyone have an idea about what might be causing this?

Thanks
Richard.
