Foam keyboard stand refers to the foam packing sheets inside the pacmate box.
You position the display so it lines up with the cutouts in that piece of foam
then place your keyboard or laptop on the foam pad to raise it above the
display. It is supposed to make the position of the display and the keyboard
easier to work with.

I hope this helps.

Well, if I open a message, and then get out of it, I can then go back to

As I said earlier, I'm using Outlook 2010 with Jaws 16 on a Windows 7 PC.

Thanks Russell for the tip on
using control U for marking a
read message as un-read in
Outlook. This works for me in
Outlook 2010 with Jaws 16 on
my Windows 7 PC.

I often do this if I have an
e-mail message that I intend
to reply to, but can't do the
reply immediately.

Typically, I have marked
messages as unread by going to
the tag sub-menu, and hitting
enter on "mark as unread", but
this is so much easier.

Thanks again!

Russell, that is good to know.
I'll see if it does that for
me. There are times, when I
want to retain a message for a
while in order to review it
several times before deciding
whether to save it somewhere,
copy some information or just
absorb it and delete the
message.

In the past in Outlook
Express, Control U would bring
you to the next unread
message. Sometimes I'll leave
a couple of messages, because
they have information I want
to reread. In Outlook Express,
when I would come in, all I'd
have to do would be press
Control U, and that would
bring me to the next unread
message.

office 365 update and a calenar question

2015-09-18 Thread Kimsan Song via Jfw
There was a thread several moons ago about using the light bersion of
outlook web and 365. I returned to work this past week and I found a
tech guy who made the changes that a person recommended I do. I'm
sorry, but I don't remember who it was. Using the keyboard, I
couldn't get to where I needed to be, and if/when I did get there, my
computer froze. Anyways, like I said, he got everything up and
running, so I'm a happy camper and am able to check my work email from
home now.
Here's my calendar question.
How can I share my calendar with my boss, so I don't have to send
excel documents of my summaries daily to her.
I found these instructions on the web but lol, I'm stuck on step 1.
You can share your calendar with people in your organization.

list of 6 items
1. Sign in to Outlook Web App. If you're using Office 365, sign in to
the Office 365 portal. Click Calendar > Share.
Share button at top of calendar window (I searched for the word share,
link, button no share was found)

2. Type the name or email address of the person you want to share
your calendar with in the Share with box. This box works like the To
box in an email
message. You can add more than one person to share your calendar with.

Send button to share your calendar in Outlook Web App.

3. After you add who you want to share your calendar with, choose how
much information you want them to see. Full details show the time,
subject, location,
and other details of all items in your calendar. Limited details show
the time, subject, and location, but no other information.
Availability only shows
the time of items on your calendar and no other details.

You can also give someone permission to edit your calendar by choosing
Editor or Delegate. An editor can edit your calendar. A delegate can
edit your calendar,
and can send and respond to meeting requests on your behalf. For more
information about editor and delegate access, see
Calendar Delegation in Outlook Web App.

4. You can edit the Subject if you want.

5. By default, your primary calendar is shared. If you created other
calendars, you can select one of them to share instead.

6. After you finish adding people to share with, setting their access
levels, and choosing which calendar to share with them, choose Send.
If you decide
not to share your calendar right now, choose Discard.
list end

Note  If you share a calendar—such as a project calendar that you
added to your account—other than your primary calendar you can give
permission only
for Full details or Editor access to that calendar.

Each person in your organization that you share your calendar with is
sent an invitation in an email message telling them that you've shared
your calendar.
The invitation has two buttons-one to add your calendar to the
recipient's calendar view, and one for the recipient to share their
calendar with you. Your
email message. The invitation also includes a URL that can be used to
access the calendar.

Add Calendar button when you receive calendar sharing invitation.

The calendar displays under People's calendars.

Calendars shared with you display under People's Calendars.

Note Calendar items marked Private are protected. Most people you
share your calendar with see only the time of items marked Private,
and not the subject,
location, or other details. The only exception to this is that you can
give a delegate permission to see the details of items marked Private.
Thoughts?

RE: Jaws 17 pleasant surprise

2015-09-18 Thread Carolyn Arnold via Jfw
You're right. The first time I
tried it, I did not arrow from
the high lighted e-mail.

I have a question about
setting up mailboxes for my
lists. I have set up the
boxes, have gone via Context
Menu and also by Alt H, R, R U
to Create Rule - gone through
the fields, checking for the
specific one that comes in the
Subject line, then entering
the name of the mailbox,
tabbed through the fields
checking most of the things in
display, getting to choose a
folder, I believe it is and
putting in the name of Folder,
then Select Folder and
Entering on it, then tabbing
to OK, where I have been
prompted that I have created a
rule, only it has not worked.
I feel sure that I am missing
a step somewhere. Thanks. If
you have any idea, I'd
appreciate steering where I
have gone wrong.

Hi Carolyn,

If I'm in my message list on a
message that has been read,
pressing CTRL + U marks the
message as "Unread". What did
this keystroke do in the past?
I've never used it.

Take care.

JAWS 17 does not support Eudora

2015-09-18 Thread Ann Byrne via Jfw
However, if you used Eudora in a previous version of JAWS--as I did
with all of them--copy the eudora scripts from your most recent
working version from 'explore my settings' and 'explore shared
settings', and you should be fine. Apparently none of the background
changes that improve JAWS 17 have effected the old Eudora scripts
adversely. Whew!

The Body of An email with an Attachment

2015-09-18 Thread Sterling France via Jfw
I am a new user of the list.

I have windows 7, JAWS 16, and Outlook 2013.

It started 3 days ago, I would scan a doc, after pressing save, the send to
comes up and I press alt HAS then my signature comes up and I press entre
and a new window comes up asking for the send to again.

I put all that info in and get down to the message body and type in my
message.

I now have all my info in, the send to, CC, title, the attachment and the
message then I tab to done and press entre.

The person I sent the email with the attachment received it but nothing was
in the body of the email. My CC came to me the same way.

Can anyone tell me what happen to the message and my signature. The
attachment and the send to, CC, date line and title were all there.

Thanks for any help.

RE: antivirus again

2015-09-18 Thread Jim Hamilton via Jfw
Well, I can tell you that I have Kaspersky, which was installed by a techie
friend of mine. Apparently, it is 1 of the top rated such programmes, but,
I have absolutely no JAWS interface with it!

I added Malwarebytes(anti-malware), which is more accessible than some other
such programmes, for extra protection. However, I would still prefer to
find a "total solution" which is accessible. So, I will be checking out
Webroot and Viper.

Does anyone have any comparative information regarding the accessibility of
these 2 products?

Another security package you can try is Webroot. Again, it's not totally
accessible. You'll need to use your jaws cursor instead of being able to
tab around but when it comes to security there are going to be trade-offs.
You can run scans just fine and be able to see the results with no problems.
I haven't found a way to get into where you can view quarantined items and
such yet but tech support is free so if worse came to worse I could have
them remote in if needed. Thing is, for the most part for general use, it's
doable.

Thing is, for the most part for general use, it's
doable.

RE: Jaws 17 pleasant surprise

2015-09-18 Thread Carolyn Arnold via Jfw
Russell, that is good to know.
I'll see if it does that for
me. There are times, when I
want to retain a message for a
while in order to review it
several times before deciding
whether to save it somewhere,
copy some information or just
absorb it and delete the
message.

In the past in Outlook
Express, Control U would bring
you to the next unread
message. Sometimes I'll leave
a couple of messages, because
they have information I want
to reread. In Outlook Express,
when I would come in, all I'd
have to do would be press
Control U, and that would
bring me to the next unread
message.

Bye for now,

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

If I'm in my message list on a
message that has been read,
pressing CTRL + U marks the
message as "Unread". What did
this keystroke do in the past?
I've never used it.

Take care.

Russell, can you do Control U
to go to Unread? I hope they
get that back like it was in
the one I used to have, no

I'm just glad it's working for

Hi all,

I just installed the Jaws 17
beta. I am happy to announce
that in Outlook 2013, when
reading messages, when I press
CTRL + D to delete the current
message and move to the next
message, Jaws is placed at the
top of the next message, and I
can read it as expected
without first having to press
the Alt key twice or alt tab
away and back to the message
as I had to do in Jaws 16!
For me, this is worth the
upgrade in and of itself! Good
job FS! :)

Looking forward to hearing
what everyone else thinks of
Jaws 17.

Happy testing! :)

Russell

Many of the tasks you mentioned would not be things that I would do.
However, I have no difficulty with "first letter navigation" in Outlook 2013

What I wish we could have in Outlook 2013 is the ability to see how many
messages are in a
box, how many are unread and the ability to Navigate to the Unread messages
with Control
U. First letter navigation wouldn't be a bad thing either. As well as I'm
wishing, I might
as well wish for what I would really like to have.

Actually, CTRL u was awesome from back in the day. That as they say is an
oldy but
goody. However, in outlook 2013, one has the ability to only display all or
unread
messages. That drove me nuts with previous versions of outlook when
navigating through
emails just to locate unread emails.

Re: pacmate display

2015-09-18 Thread Kimber Gardner via Jfw
Foam keyboard stand refers to the foam packing sheets inside the
pacmate box. You position the display so it lines up with the cutouts
in that piece of foam then place your keyboard or laptop on the foam
pad to raise it above the display. It is supposed to make the position
of the display and the keyboard easier to work with.

I hope this helps.
