[frameworks-solid] [Bug 402660] Device notifier clears a device after unmount, but before unplug

2020-08-06 Thread Mihai Sorin Dobrescu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402660

--- Comment #38 from Mihai Sorin Dobrescu ---
An idea: what if the devices under same controller are grouped under a tree
node and a device can be mounted/unmounted by clicking on it's button and the
controller itself by clicking on it's own button?
What if that controller would eject all its children, if possible (if they are
in use, is expected not to, for example)?

Bug ID: 425095
Summary: Beginning and end of long parent directory name is cut
off in location bar
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 20.04.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: bars: location
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org

The directory name is cut off on both sides

SUMMARY
See the attached pictures. If you enter a subdirectory of a directory with a
long enough name, then the beginning and end of the name is cut off. The name
displays fine before entering a subdirectory, though.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin
2. Navigate to a directory with a long name
3. Enter a subdirectory of the above directory

OBSERVED RESULT
The parent directory name is clipped on both sides.

EXPECTED RESULT
Either space should be made for the directory name, or at least is cut off or
truncated only at the end.

I think it would be great to see the package name you search for be the first
result rather than the last, or maybe to provide an option for how to order the
results.

For example, if I search for "wine-staging", the "wine-staging" package should
be the first one to show up on the list, rather than being the last in a list
of other irrelevant things.

Furthermore, if I search for a package name that is found in other packages,
for example, "wine", then I should expect to see "wine", "wine-gecko",
"wine-staging", "winetricks" etc. as the first results.

xz and tar.xz archives should each have their own icons to differentiate them

The current situation:
  * There are no icons for application/x-xz which is the mimetype for xz
archives on my system.

  * There are icons for application/x-xz-pkg which are merely symlinks to
package-x-generic

  * There are icons for application/x-xz-compressed-tar which are merely

Krita mster (2fb0bf9f91ccb864af0d9) There is a bug on watercolopresets
apparently on load the alphamask is not loaded at all. intstead I get the brush
predefined tip white and black showing. Reselecting any brush predefined tip
fixes the issue for the session for that particular preset.

But the brushes do work.

On top the preset as loaded.
Bottom, the same preset but opened predefined tips and selected any.

Is this the issue you are having?

Layer stack with disconnected 'highlighted' and 'selected'

Speak of the devil, just happened again. Took some screengrabs. Couldn't figure
out what caused it, though. perhaps a mis-assigned keyboard shortcut?

I noticed I couldn't draw, I got the red 'disallowed' cursor. And when I tried
to draw, a tooltip came up in the upper left that said "This layer is hidden"
or something similar.

-The layer I was drawing on (and had been drawing on for 30 minutes, never
switching) was still highlighted, as it should be.
-The layer that the program thought was selected was the only top-level group
layer (In the screenshot, 'Group 15') You can tell it thinks this because the
layer name is bold.

  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: i...@ralek.art
  Target Milestone: ---

I'm not sure what causes it, but recently (within the last 2 weeks or so) my
currently active layer switches to a group layer way more times than usual.
(potentially any 'top-level' layer? Only seen so far on group layers)

I only notice it when I begin trying to draw on my current working layer, and
the brush doesn't work. I check my layer stack to notice that the group layer
is now selected. I'm not sure how or why it got selected. I've had 0 problems
with this in the year or so I've used Krita, and now the above happens at least
15 or more times in an 4-8 hour session.

I may have to resort to recording my screen to try and figure out just when the
switch happens. I understand this isn't currently helpful or reproducible
(consistently), but it is definitely happening regularly at least for me and I
figured I might as well open this for future reference.

[okular] [Bug 425075] Internal annotations (i. e. not in PDF) are painted in multiply mode, so they look transparent even when “100% opacity” is configured.

Summary|"Straight line" annotation |Internal annotations (i. e.
   |is always semi-transparent |not in PDF) are painted in
   ||multiply mode, so they look
   ||transparent even when “100%
   ||opacity” is configured.

I indeed wondered about this code. The PagePainter::draw...() methods, which
are responsible for drawing internal annotations, are always called with
composition mode “multiply”. They are indeed 100% opaque, but “multiply” is not
what you are used to see.

The problem with this is that they become completely invisible e. g. when
“Invert colors” is activated on a .txt document, or the document is otherwise
just dark.

The correct composition modes would be: “soft light” for Highlighter
annotations and simply “normal” for all other annotations. “Soft light” has
potentially bad performance, so another option would be to choose “multiply” or
“screen” depending on the document and color mode.

I assume “multiply” just evolved from a time when only Highlighter annotations
and documents with light background were relevant. Future developers probably
just wondered about it and adopted it, because they thought it must have some
reason.

[lattedock] [Bug 425078] Super key to activate Application Launcher can have a half-second delay

2020-08-06 Thread Michail Vourlakos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425078

The reason for the delay is because if the pop up is triggered immediately and
the Dock is hidden then the pop-up will start from the screen edge and it will
be out of place when the Dock finally slides in. Latte can not reposition
popups

On the other hand some cleverness in order for the pop-up to slide in exactly
after the slide in completes might make sense. So based on animations the
pop-up should be immediately shown after slide in even when the slide in is
instant...

SUMMARY
When using the Export > Export to Flickr... menu item, I am presented with a
dialog box that seems to require me to select a file on the file system. I am
unable to select a directory and can only select a single file. Select all and
shift and cmd clicking don't select multiple files.

This is true if I use the + button or the file folder icon button.

I'd like to be able to sync and combination of selected tags, but I don't see
any option for that. All export options (SmugMug etc) seem to present the same
dialog, though with different login options.

This might be a wish list item, but I'd also like to not have to select
anything off the filesystem, and use the Digikam standard interface to export
any items in the current filter or by tag. Albums are insufficient for my
needs. I love Digikam, but this is probably a deal breaker unless I roll some
code to sync with Photos (which I might :-)).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click the Export > Export to Flickr... menu item.
2. Select an account.
3. Click any button that prompts for files (+ or the file folder icon at the
bottom).
4. Try to select a directory or more than one image.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only a single image is selectable.

EXPECTED RESULT
Any number of images should be able to opened/selected.

[ksysguard] [Bug 425083] New: networking sensors (maybe others as well) don't reenable if interface restarted and just freeze

2020-08-06 Thread Andrew Travneff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425083

Bug ID: 425083
Summary: networking sensors (maybe others as well) don't
reenable if interface restarted and just freeze
   Product: ksysguard
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: ksysguard
  Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: travn...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
For some cases networking graphs in ksysguard just freeze until app restart.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create network speed graph for some existing interface.
2. Put the interface down and up.

OBSERVED RESULT
Graph freezes forever.

EXPECTED RESULT
Graph continues after interface goes up.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Fedora 32 x64
ksysguard-5.18.5-1.fc32.x86_64
ksysguard-libs-4.11.22-27.fc32.x86_64
plasma-desktop-5.18.5-2.fc32.x86_64
qt5-qtbase-common-5.14.2-5.fc32.noarch

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Similar case to reproduce is to start ksysguard when interface is down. Graph
does not continue when interface goes up.

[kdevelop] [Bug 407065] Debugging silently does not work without CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=DEBUG

 CC||luis...@gmail.com

--- Comment #7 from Luís Henrique Camargo Quiroz ---
This still happens with KDevelop 5.5.2 (on Debian testing).
For a new and very small project the default configuration is "debug" but the
compilation is not the debug one. I missed lots of time trying to check if I
had configured KDevelop or the launch in wrong ways, even checked in other
machines (where I had to do install, etc). Only when I decided to create a new
configuration as "release" and compiled the project I saw that the executables,
debug and release ones, are the same! And, after that, when I compiled again
the debug version, then the executable was bigger and really with debug
information, and the breakpoints started to work as they should. After... a day
of work :(

Steps to reproduce:
1 - Create a new project, for instance in the category Standard and type
terminal;
  2 - I opted not to use a version control system;
  3 - A sample/initial main.c appears, I will use it (a "Hello, World!"
classic)
4 - configure a launch for the debug
5 - put a breakpoint in the line that will print the "Hello, World!"
6 - start the debug session

Observed result
The program runs and finishes, without regard to the breakpoint
However, if I create a new configuration for the project (Project/Open
configuration...) of any type (debug or release) then the initial configuration
will bbe compiled as a debug version.

FIX
I noticed, while writing here in the debug tracker, that if I had selected
Project/Configure the selection after the initial project was created, then the
compilation will be correct, with debug information, and breakpoints work

[lattedock] [Bug 425078] Super key to activate Application Launcher can have a half-second delay

2020-08-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply

No to both! I must have turned off Composting a long time ago. Enabling it
makes the parabolic effect work, as well as animations, and some other options.

The half-second delay is still there, but it does make more sense with the
animations active.

My normal behavior is to tap the Super key and immediately begin typing into
the Application Launcher. The half-second delay interrupts this behavior
somewhat, but I have no idea if that's reason enough to change anything.

How I want to use plasma-nm:

  [how to do this?
  - Right-click Panel --> Edit Panel...
  - Hover Systemtray --> Configure...
  - Networks (Automatic Load) --> click "None" and enter desired shortcut
  ]
2. typing opens search and filters right away (no need to click magnifier)
3. use of up and down arrow keys to select network connection
4. connect by hitting enter

More ideas:
3a. using left and right arrow could change behavior for hitting enter (connect
<-> configure)
5. hitting space could expand selected connection and show details

[khotkeys] [Bug 425082] New: Custom shortcuts don't work the first few seconds after user switching

2020-08-06 Thread Bogomil Vasilev
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425082

Bug ID: 425082
Summary: Custom shortcuts don't work the first few seconds
after user switching
   Product: khotkeys
   Version: 5.19.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@michael-jansen.biz
  Reporter: smi...@smirky.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Define some custom shortcuts (i.e. Meta+1 to open urxvt)
1. Login with user X, using SDDM (haven't tested another login manager)
2. Switch to user Y
3. Switch back to user X
4. Use any custom shortcuts in the first couple of seconds after login

OBSERVED RESULT
There's absolutely no response after using the custom shortcuts when switching
a user in X.
However, they seem to get stacked somehow and they eventually get pushed after
a few seconds.

EXPECTED RESULT
Custom shortcuts should work immediately after switching a user.
They actually work fine when doing a full login (not just unlocking the
account).

In Kmail Compose, i would really like "Ctrl-Up" to take the cursor to the
beginning of the line or paragraph. This would then mirror LibreOffice Writer
(& MS Word) cursor behaviour. Currently, Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down seem to do
nothing in Compose view, at least in Rich Text mode.

ALso, I notice that Ctrl-Shift-Up seems to move a paragraph up by one line if
the cursor is at the beginning of the paragraph - is this intentional?
According to the above change request, Ctrl-Shift-Up should apply selection to
mirror the above-mentioned request. eg select from current cursor position to
top of line/para.

i dont think this is fixed on x11, might be same symptom but a different bug
because i have an additional symptom:

with meta + shift + prtsc. in my case i dont have auto save image enabled, only
copy image to clipboard. when i run the shortcut i get a saved image and image
in the notification but whats copied to clipboard is the file path of the image
instead.

so maybe i have two bugs:
1. image is saved when its not supposed to be.
2. image isnt copied to clipboard.

if i have spectacle open i dont have any of these issues, the image ISNT saved
to disk and the image IS copied to clipboard correctly.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 425077] In the KDE connect app files sometimes don't finish sending and sometimes (when many files are being sent) they are displayed as received but are 0B

2020-08-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425077

For the first problem:
The Android app displayed that it has no connection while the GNU/Linux app
still displayed that it's paired and the "Unpair"-button.
The notifications for ongoing file-transmissions with a frozen download-bar are
still there even after connecting anew from the Android app.
When sending the same files again after establishing the connection again there
are additional notifications.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 425077] New: In the KDE connect app files sometimes don't finish sending and sometimes (when many files are being sent) they are displayed as received but are 0B

2020-08-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425077

Bug ID: 425077
Summary: In the KDE connect app files sometimes don't finish
sending and sometimes (when many files are being sent)
they are displayed as received but are 0B
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 1.10
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: myndstr...@protonmail.ch
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When trying to send from Debian10/KDE to Android with KDE Connect files
sometimes get stuck so the download bar in the Android doesn't move anymore
even though it's still connected.
Furthermore, sometimes files are displayed as being sent even though they were
apparently aborted and are of 0B.
Additionally, this sometimes also appears to occur for files which have been
sent (not aborted). I'm relatively sure I also once had a case of a file not
being openable on the encrypted SD card but openable later on.

These might be separate issues. Is there a log that can help find out what's
causing these problems? If not adding such to the Android app and/or the
GNU/Linux app would be a issue (feature-request).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try to send many large files from Debian10/KDE to Android

OBSERVED RESULT
See details above.

EXPECTED RESULT
All files should transfer completely successfully. And if they aren't this
should be displayed in the notification on Android. Furthermore, there should
be a log that helps to find out problems.

im running across this as well with meta + shift + prtsc. in my case i dont
have auto save image enabled, only copy image to clipboard. when i run the
shortcut i get a saved image and image in the notification but whats copied to
clipboard is the file path of the image instead.

so maybe i have two bugs:
1. image is saved when its not supposed to be.
2. image isnt copied to clipboard.

if i have spectacle open i dont have any of these issues, the image ISNT saved
to disk and the image IS copied to clipboard correctly.

If you get a project started to source the necessary information I suppose one
could think about making a KCM for it. Getting that bootstrap'd isn't really
something that fits into kinfocenter's development. Currently I can't seem to
find a cross platform way to detect any of this easily, so without a way to do
so I don't see kinfocenter being able to help here. It's purely a visualization
app of existing data.

Hello Maik, thanks for your answer and test.
I have used the «repair hidden items» tool (did not knew it before...) but it
did not make any change.
See the attached screen capture. The selected pano does not display the
«grouped images» icon. Also, in the lower left corner, it is clearly writen
that there are 4 hidden items. This is after using the «repair hidden items»
tool ! Really strange.

I'm really sorry, but I will be offline for at least 2 month, starting in a
couple of hours, so I will not be able to follow on on this bug. Many thanks
for your amazing work.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393929] Plasmashell gobbles all my memory leak

2020-08-06 Thread whoopsdecade
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393929

The plasmashell process is consuming 1.1GB right now with system uptime of 20
days. The plasmashell memory consumption just keeps increasing, steadily, over
time denoting a memory leak as reported. I have never seen it consume something
as dramatic as 7gb in 5 days but it's clear to me if I don't restart the
session for 120 days it could get close to that (if plasmashell doesn't restart
itself as it does every now and then :sigh:).

The heaptrack was uploaded here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6u6q6ato6jr2k7o/heaptrack.plasmashell.495556.gz since
even compressed it's around 52MBs. It encompasses a couple of hours. Please
note that heaptrack is still running but I don't know if it is supposed to
finish by itself or if it's just going to keep running while the process is
still going. Please let me know so I can kill it or leave it running for longer
if you need me to. If you need anything else please just let me know.

[okular] [Bug 425076] New: Print to File - can't print a specific page(s)

2020-08-06 Thread BingMyBong
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425076

Bug ID: 425076
Summary: Print to File - can't print a specific page(s)
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.10.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: printing
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: bingmyb...@btinternet.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Print a PDF document to PDF does not allow you to print just a few selected
pages.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. run okular and load an existing PDF
2. Select print function
3. Choose Print to File (PDF)

OBSERVED RESULT
4. Only option allowed is to print complete file

EXPECTED RESULT
Be allowed to print a selection of pages to a PDF file.

The reason for wanting to do this is that i just received a PDF file containing
boarding passes for 2 people each separated by a blank page and i wanted to
split the file up and send the 2 people their own boarding passes and without
the blank pages.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

5.7.11-1-default -

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If i leave the printer set to a physical printer, i can then select the pages i
want. If i then change the printer to "Print to File", it leaves the choices
intact but totally ignores it and prints the complete file to a new PDF. The
newly printed PDF exists on the disk with its new name but if you load it in
okular, it thinks its reading the original file as it shows the original name
in the title.
