[kwin] [Bug 409490] Recording desktop video isn't possible with compositing disabled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409490 --- Comment #2 from Martin Flöser --- This is a problem of the recorder you use. If compositing is disabled KWin is not involved at all. Please be aware that recording adds a huge lag no matter whether compositing is enabled or not. X11 is not designed for such use cases and performs extremely bad for screen recording. I recommend to use Wayland instead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409675 --- Comment #5 from Michal Mutl --- Also I don't understand what is problem to remember window position in cfg file or registry. [kate] [Bug 409675] Main window does not remember its position.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409675 --- Comment #4 from Michal Mutl --- It is critical, because if i change windows size and then position window to be centered with new size, after new Kate start its window is positioned with new size half-outside of the screen. Startup window size is too small so that resizing is needed to make working reasonable. But user must reposition window all the time Kate is started. Ubuntu alters the default to uncheck this checkbox by default 2. You or someone else unchecked it by mistake 3. Though you reinstalled the OS, you migrated settings from a previous install, and among them was this checkbox being unchecked If you create a new account and it's unchecked for that user, then #1 is the culprit, and I would encourage you to take it up with the Ubuntu people and ask them to stop overriding the upstream default for this. Without shadows, tiled windows that happen to have the same edge colors will visually blend into one another, which looks bad (turn off compositing and then tile some windows and you'll see what I mean). Also, without shadows, the only way to tell which window is in the foreground would be by looking at titlebar colors. [ark] [Bug 378904] Ark should use charset auto-detection for filenames
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378904 Zeno Endemann changed: What|Removed |Added CC||zeno.endem...@googlemail.co ||m --- Comment #4 from Zeno Endemann --- I've recently run into this problem as well. So I've looked at the Ark sources, but I don't see a good way to add this feature, both from the coding (no other archive plugin needs special open-time options, so there is understandably no infrastructure) as well as the UI standpoint (there is no dialog when opening an archive via the main navigation, and adding one would be weird). I would very much understand if an intrusive code change would not be acceptable just for this problem. Thus I would propose the following solution: Use auto detection of the encoding (via KEncodingProber) per default (which should hopefully work for most people, it worked at least on my zip file with Japanese encoding), but also have an override via command line switch or environment variable that would force to use an encoding for all opened zip files for the running Ark process. While not ideal that would be good enough for me, and only require minimal changes and no changes to the UI. There is one risk though, in that using encoding auto detection could potentially introduce regressions for other users. Note though that some kind of encoding auto detection is already in use (see ZIP_FL_ENC_GUESS flag here: https://libzip.org/documentation/zip_name_locate.html), but that is not working sufficiently apparently. Anyway, if my suggested approach is acceptable, I could prepare a patch. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Figure out which shortcut is associated to the "Enable clipboard action" action (on my system: Ctrl-Alt-x) 4. Close configuration dialog 5.
