[neon] [Bug 438809] offline updates are not installed on restart
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438809 Sayan Chakroborty changed: What|Removed |Added CC||sayan@e.email --- Comment #16 from Sayan Chakroborty --- I am facing this issue on Arch Linux where I don't have plymouth installed and so naturally I don't get any splash screen that says press C to cancel but it fails anyway because I get the same update notification after booting to plasma. How do I fix it without plymouth? I don't want to install and configure plymouth because my system doesn't like it and causes plymouth to hang for more than 10 seconds on reboot or shutdown. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438434 --- Comment #17 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- (In reply to Martin Steigerwald from comment #15) > What for does Baloo need an invariant for the file? As I understand it... internally, it is the key within the index. It also allows "missed changes" to be reconciled if baloo is not running when the file is changed or has missed the inotify. > Why wouldn't a rename mess things up without an invariant (device number > or filesystem id)? Or otherwise put how would having device/filesystem > unique invariant help with a rename? I think "the trap" is to avoid reindexing everything in a large folder tree if you rename the top foldername. You need a way to tell if oldtree/x/y/z is the same file as newname/x/y/z or not... >From my experience, baloo has to react to inotify events and also be able to smoothly recover/catch up if the events are missed. > ... I bet you'd need a file/directory based > invariant for that. I.e. a hash value for each file ... Baloo also allows you to index the filename/metadata and not index the content. [kdenlive] [Bug 439194] New: Effects on clips (in project bin) stop being applied to timeline clip zones
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439194 Bug ID: 439194 Summary: Effects on clips (in project bin) stop being applied to timeline clip zones Product: kdenlive Version: 21.04.2 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Effects & Transitions Assignee: vpi...@kde.org Reporter: ryan.ke...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Effects applied to clips in project bin (e.g. Chroma Key dragged onto entire clip in project bin) stop being applied to the zones/copies of that clip in the timeline. Disabling and then re-enabling the associated timeline clips fixes the issues. Note that all of the timeline zone clips must be selected at the same time when doing the workaround, otherwise the unselected clips will have their project bin effects unapplied. I am not sure exactly what else might trigger the "forgetting" of the project bin clip effects. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Drag project bin clip into timeline twice. 2. Drag effect (e.g. Chroma Key) onto a clip in project bin. 3. Disable and re-enable one of the clips in timeline (there may be other triggers but this one seems reliable). 4. The other clip will now lose it's effects. 5. Select both clips and disable and re-enable them both. Both clips will have effects applied. OBSERVED RESULT Clip zones no longer have project bin clip effects applied. EXPECTED RESULT Clip zones always reflect the effects of bin clip effects. [kwin] [Bug 438789] kwin_wayland crashed in KWin::DrmGpu::updateOutputs while un/re-plugging monitor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438789 --- Comment #5 from Zamundaaa --- I looked into it a bit more and there's a bunch of > failed to open drm device at "" in the wayland session log which mean that KWin is detecting a GPU hotplug (not unplug!) of a device with an empty path, but failing to use the device (as intended, as the path is nonsense). When it crashes adding a hotplugged device seems to suceed but it then fails updating the outputs on that device. As to what device gets added or how that would cause a crash, 5.22.1 contains some more and improved debug logging for the drm stuff and specifically for hot(un)plugging GPUs, so if you use the env var and 5.22.1 that could yield some more useful information in the wayland-session log -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This means the applications will not qualify to be shown in the often used application menu, no matter how often they are used over the search. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Pick an application and check the cached score in the resource score cache. 2. Start the application from the search in Application Menu (Kicker) or the Application Dashboard. 3. [plasmashell] [Bug 439178] New: Often used favorites decrease number of often used applications in menu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439178 Bug ID: 439178 Summary: Often used favorites decrease number of often used applications in menu Product: plasmashell Version: 5.21.5 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Menu (Kicker) Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: alpha0...@yahoo.de CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY The number of often used applications that are shown in the Application Menu/Dashboard depends on how many favorites score as most used applications in the "resource score cache". In the following, I assume that 14 is the hard coded maximum number of often used applications shown in the menu. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start with no favorites and more than 14 applications with a score in the resource score cache. 2. Set (for example) 12 of the often used applications shown in the menu as favorites. OBSERVED RESULT Only 2 applications are shown as often used and no more than that, no matter how high the cached score of any other application is. EXPECTED RESULT The menu should show the configured number of often used applications, or less only if there are not enough applications recorded in the cache. It makes sense to exclude often used favorites from the often used application selection, but this shouldn't decrease the total number of often used applications shown in the menu.
