[korganizer] [Bug 441110] New: Event syncing via caldav not showing correct time on other calenders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441110 Bug ID: 441110 Summary: Event syncing via caldav not showing correct time on other calenders Product: korganizer Version: unspecified Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: timezones Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: dono...@atstech.co.za Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 140809 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=140809=edit ScreenShots Of the different calenders Good day all. I think this issue is related to a very old bug [324984] Just since then I have been using thunderbird due to this issue. So let me explain. The original issue was that when I saved my event "see the previous bug" it would show the event 1 hour earlier. So for example when I create an event for 11 am. it would actually display that the event started at 10 am. the workaround was to change my time zone so it seemed it was actually only an sast timezone issue that I know of. Someone posted in 2014 that it was fixed. BTW it is fixed. Even now when adding an event it shows correctly. However when I sync my cal via caldav. My CalDAV server "iredmail" shows the time as one hour earlier. Then when syncing to my Android phone it shows incorrectly as well. And to another pc using thunderbird. If I create the event on the server, thunderbird, android it will show at the correct time in Korganiser. Workaround (Pain in the butt) Create events on the web portal, or phone And only accept events on phone and portal etc. However this is not i viable longterm option. MY Opinion "When the original bug was fixed it was not fixed in the caldav sync section" I have attached a image of screenshots from all 4 calenders.| Event Title : Is the date and time I've selected and on what device i added the event STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set timezone to sast 2. Create an event for 11am on a caldav calender 3. sync calender to server or another device OBSERVED RESULT The event will show up on calender 1 hour before EXPECTED RESULT The event must show up at the time originally selected SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon 5.22 KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.9.7-050907-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 20 × Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2680 v2 @ 2.80GHz Memory: 62,8 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Quadro K5000/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

It talks about an "All Presets view", which I assume is the All tag, and says that the user should be able to press Enter to show all items during filtering, but such behavior doesn't happen. It also says that switching to other tags should enable a sort of "save filtered resources into named sets" functionality, but that behavior doesn't seem to exist either, or at least doesn't seem very discoverable. Further from my experiences Comment 16 - Comment 31, with a Fedora guest under KVM (single screen) The then recurrent problems were with F33 (and X), these effectively vanished by Comment 31. [krita] [Bug 441096] New: Color selector doesn't intuitively update when selecting a different color model type in Color Selector Settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441096 Bug ID: 441096 Summary: Color selector doesn't intuitively update when selecting a different color model type in Color Selector Settings Product: krita Version: 4.4.7 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Color Selectors Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tomtomtomreportin...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Something I recall confusing me a fair bit when first getting into Krita was configuration of the Color Selector. When choosing a different Color Model Type, the Color Selector doesn't automatically conform to an equivalent form of that Color Model, until the user explicitly selects one. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure Krita -> Color Selector Settings 2. For demonstration, with HSV selected, select the common square selector with hue ring border (bottom side is black). 3. Select a different Color Model type, for example HSL. OBSERVED RESULT The color selector stays the exact same despite selecting a different color model type. The user must realize that they have to explicitly set a new color selector for one that conforms to the selected color model. EXPECTED RESULT The color selector should automatically conform to the closest color model equivalent as soon as a new color model type is selected. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian sid KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 Qt Version: 5.12.9 (Appimage) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION HSV color model has 9 different color selectors while other color models have 7 different color selectors. HSV has two extra color selectors for alternative "spectrums" of existing forms. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 405235] Slow startup and new file scan on low latency networks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405235 --- Comment #21 from Maik Qualmann --- In the first section we look for possible deleted albums or whether digiKam albums have just been moved. That means we read the database and look directly in the collection to see whether the folder still exists, if not it is deleted from the database. This process is currently not counted in the progress display. This is so fast on local drives that it is unnecessary. It would also only effect a few percent in the ad, because, for example, with 5,000 albums against 100,000 images, it would be around 5 percent. In the second section, the change date of the albums is now determined and compared with the DB and a scan is initiated if necessary; this is recorded by the progress display. It is not so easy to combine both sections. A cache might still be possible so that we don't have to look twice at the network collection folders ... Comparing how fast console tools are when listing a network collection, I think we are now almost at the end of the optimization. [trojita] [Bug 365299] make transition from qtwebkit to qtwebengine
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365299 Matt Whitlock changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@mattwhitlock.name --- Comment #21 from Matt Whitlock --- As of 2 Aug 2021, Gentoo has hard-masked Trojitá due to unpatched security vulnerabilities in QtWebkit. Of course I can manually unmask the ebuilds and eventually copy them into a local repo when Gentoo deletes them, but I fear it's only a matter of time before someone figures out a remote-code-execution vulnerability that's exploitable via Trojitá's HTML email viewer, and with no further updates to QtWebkit indefinitely, running Trojitá is going to become a liability. I second the sentiment that I would prefer to continue using Trojitá even without support for rendering HTML mail parts. Maybe QtWebkit can be ripped out and replaced with nothing if it's too hard to switch to QtWebEngine? No other mail clients are even remotely usable. Trojitá isn't perfect, but it's the best there is. :( (In reply to Thomas Rohloff from comment #20) > What about trojita saving the html to /tmp, then opening it with an external > browser from there? That doesn't work because there would be no way to pass attached parts to the external browser (e.g., for images). [digikam] [Bug 405235] Slow startup and new file scan on low latency networks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405235 --- Comment #20 from MarcP --- By the way, when the initial scan starts, it stays for a while at 0%, before the progress bar starts to move towards the 100%. I must measured it, from 0% to 1%: 2m26s >From 1% to 100%: 2m16s That's about half of the time. What is digikam doing during that period of time? I noticed that wait is also longer the higher the latency in the network. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405235 --- Comment #19 from MarcP --- Hi again, I could not find to run digikam in debug mode using the flatpak version, but I measured the date when I launched it and when it finished the initial scan. After upgrading to today's version (with no new pictures): First run: 10 min and 42 seconds Second run: 4 minutes and 43 seconds. I don't know if the first time was a bit slower because it had to populate the database with the new field (10 minutes instead of the 7 and a half that took last week), but the second run was even faster than that, so, so far so good! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-systemmonitor] [Bug 441093] New: Feature: average queue size sensor for disks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441093 Bug ID: 441093 Summary: Feature: average queue size sensor for disks Product: plasma-systemmonitor Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org Reporter: tobr...@gmail.com CC: ahiems...@heimr.nl, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- The average queue size is a good metric for how much a disk is working at any given time. It is a better metric then the Read- and Write rates, as those fail to take into account that reading 100MB sequentially is keeping a disk much less busy than reading 100MB of random 4k blocks. If a user wants to know how busy his (hard) disk currently is, the avereage queue size is the most meaningful metric. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441021 Andrei Rybak changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |REPORTED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- --- Comment #3 from Andrei Rybak --- @Nate, both the pinned task manager icon and a _differently created_ desktop icon work. By "differently created" I mean created via "Right click in Application Launcher > + Add to Desktop". I didn't realize that the contents of .desktop file would matter that much. However, it apparently matters for this use case. The bug as described above only reproduces with a .desktop file I've created myself in a text editor. The whole contents of the file are: #!/usr/bin/env xdg-open [Desktop Entry] Exec=/snap/bin/chromium Terminal=false Type=Application Icon=/snap/chromium/current/chromium.png It is a bare minimum of what's needed for an otherwise working .desktop icon. The icon created via Application Launcher is actually a symlink to /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/chromium_chromium.desktop, which has 296 lines. I'm trying to figure out which of these are needed for the icon to behave differently on drag-n-drop of URLs (drag-n-drop of files works fine with the bare minimum .desktop file). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
