I'm seeing the expected performance with the SRU kernel (technically a
different build with a couple of SATA patches required to boot)

Hi Po-Hsu,
According to your above log, we can use below method instead to dump
only the pci device we need to check only.
a. Use Kernel 3.13.0-031300 and Cold boot to Linux,
sudo su
lspci -v -s 01:00.0 o2dev_log1
lspci -v -s 00:1c.0 rcdev_log1
b.Use Kernel 3.16 or
Hi,
I have tested this with the latest kernel.
flex2:~$ uname -a
Linux flex2 3.17.0-031700rc1-generic #201408161335 SMP Sat Aug 16 17:36:29 UTC
2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
This bug is still present . THe screen does not automatically dim when
power source is removed and laptop runs on
I can confirm that the patches kernels fix the bug.

@adam,
If it is not a UEFI based installation, try a BIOS reset (to factory
defaults). Or, if it is dual-booting with Windows 8, try a hot-reboot
while the wifi is active.
If these don't help, I suggest you start a thread at ubuntuforums.org
with the description of the problem and the
Dump device individually works!

Eric's patch makes the situation worse rather than better.
I've sent two patches to lxc which work around the issue. Given how
touch this area is, I'm feeling skiddish and wondering whether we are
better off not touching the kernel, just teaching userspace to deal with
what's there.
