The Asus X450 and X550 laptops use a PS/2 touchpad from a new
manufacturer called FocalTech:

Actually last night I tried few more solutions on internet and after shutting

Hi,
After updating the BIOS, the backlight control works once more. In fact,
I can now also turn off the backlight completely with the same controls,
which was not possible before. Furthermore, the backlight control is
more fine-grained than before.
It seems that the problem is fixed.
Thanks.
OK I'm saying this is fixed in the new kernel, have been running it for
some time and the suspend/resume behaviour was much more stable. When I
switched to the vivid kernel (due to overlayfs incompatibility), susres
was all over the place again.

Hi Christopher,
I updated the BIOS to F.18 but it doesn't change anything. Suspend/resume still
behaves as stated above. I also tried with the Nouveau driver but the result is
similar; on resume you get the graphical login screen (at least) but it does
not accept any input (keyboard or mouse)
I should probably add that suspend/resume worked just fine in 13.10 with
this laptop.
