Hello all, same problem here. Hangs about 35 seconds on initial Ramdisk.
Installation with EFI and i have also a nvidiacard. Same on my
officenotebook. I had also some Errors at boot.
PKCS#7 signature not signed with a trusted key
So i sigend the kernelmodules with a trusted key. This has worked
On my laptop with a SATA ssd I also have higher reported times than
process real time, albeit not by such a huge margin. Only a factor of
2-4 too high.

Yes it does. I just confirmed the issue is still present in
4.15.0-34-generic. I also upgraded my bios to the latest 1.2.8. See
attached syslog which contains backtrace. I don't notice any difference.
I was also able to find another workaround by removing "splash" from the

I haven't had crashes for some time, and note the following messages
appear (somewhat) like the initial description, but only stay briefly
before I'm asked for password (unlock screen, no crash & session resumes
as it should)

The kernel 4.15.0-32-generic #35~lp1792100Commit77a24c313d2 works.
I installed an older kernel to use in case of problems. It turns out the
some of the older kernels hang in the same way. Here's the rundown on
the kernels from the repository:
4.15.0-30: hangs
4.15.0-29: hangs
4.15.0-24: works
Can you see if the fix in mainline was also cc'd to 4.15 stable? That latest
kernel is available from:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.15.18/
If 4.15.18 still exhibits the bug, we can perform a "Reverse" bisect to
identify the commit that fixes the bug in 4.19

SMB: not reconnecting SOFS shares when a host goes
Public bug reported:
When using Scale-Out File Server (SOFS) shares, the same share is
exposed by multiple share servers through a single Distributed Network
Name.
When a host goes down, the share connections should be automatically
reestablished using a different share server.
