Yes, exactly. There is no issue with Kernel 4.10 (16.04 HWE or 17.04).
Current 17.10 Kernel does not boot properly. Unfortunately there are no
logs, even on persistent journald. The OS freezes after switching from
initramfs to real rootfs.

I can confirm this bug still exists in Zesty 17.04 on my MBA 6,2
This workaround still works:

My system intermittently locks up every few days. It does not seem to
correspond to a particular program or action. When that happens, the
screen goes to black, then returns after a few seconds. At that point,

How is this supposed to work generally. On DLPAR, kdump needs to be
reloaded -- does that the mean the kdump.service should be watching for
