Given the nvidia drivers are a WORKAROUND, it appears the touchpad not
working is correlated to an issue with the graphics driver nouveau.
Hence, in order to upstream this, could you please remove the
WORKAROUND, install the latest mainline kernel (now 4.16-rc1),
