Hi Dave.

Hummm You can take a look to the icons in eechema screen.

Should be a good idea if you run each tool to know what each is.

2007-11-02 Thread Harold King Tarun
Hi Dave

Like Danillo said all the information you need is in EEschema help
file chapter 5.7. If you have already already used other commercial
EDA packages like Protel, OrCAD, PADS, etc. you can easily relate to
but if not the help file is very useful for any beginner and advance
user.

Harold

Re: [kicad-users] new sheet

2007-11-02 Thread william ehlers
I have an issue also with new sheets. I have been using Kicad for about 2
years now and have never figured out how to do a flat schematic. When a
schematic is only 3 or 4 pages Hierarchial is really kind of unnecessary. I
have read the tutorials and helps and still don't see it. This is to say I
am probably just ignorant and it is there I just don't see where. Can
somebody in the Kicad world please explain how to do a flat schematic or is
this just not possible? I have no issue to speak of since industry is going
to hierarchial. I just would like to do the smaller designs in a reasonible
page size without hierchial.

On a seperate note my thanks to all who contribute to and support kicad. It
is an exceptional program. In alot of ways better than EDA packages costing
in the 100's if not 1000's.

Thanks for fixing that issue Jean-Pierre! It works now (btw the svn
notification list is great :-) )

It seems that the default path is stripped from the library file path when
a new library is added, so if you move the libraries and change the path,
it should still work. But if a library is outside the default path, it's
full path is kept and the default path isn't used.

Which is better than no power nets but this examples/eyespy (TI
app note for an ATX power supply) and other designs would require
edits to the symbol to provide multiple power nets such as +3v3,
+5V, +5VSB, AGND, etc, information not included in the OrCad EDIF
out file.

And a new revision 20071101 zipped tar file has been released for

Hi,

As I know, you have to modify the symbol with the component editor, there is
no scaling facilities.

Hello Dave,

You should take a look at the help files, especially chapter 2 of Eeschema

You will certainly find the response to you question ;-)
