KR> Fittings for Tracy Obrian brakes.

2010-05-30 Thread Dan Heath
Yes, isn't propriety a really cool thing. That little issue cost me two weeks of flying time. However, my good friend, Matt Elder, had the solution. He had some 1/16th pipe to AN-4 tube fittings. I broke one of them, and found an adapter at the local speed shop for 1/16th pipe to 1/8th pipe. B

KR> Pitch Stability

2010-05-30 Thread Dan Heath
I have a stock KR2, not even an S, and it does not have pitch stability issues. If it did, I think they would be referred to as 'PIOs'. What it does have is yaw stability issues, in rough air. In smooth air, it is a very stable airplane, but when it gets a bit rough up there, you really have to

Buy a new one if you can. There are only certain numbers on the old ones that can be used. When I had to do this many years ago, the only ones I could find were the bad ones. In fact, the case that cracked, turned out to be one of the bad ones. See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on

Your collection of Clouds and Sunsets is "PRICELESS". This one is really neat in the way that the bad weather meets the good. I am sure glad you had a way out of that one. Can't wait to get my Corvair installed, so I can fly at those altitudes. How long can you fly that high, without suffering

Find a friend that you really don't care much about. Actually, what you have read already, is basically the way I have done it, and I have done it a lot of times. The friend can just jiggle the end of the wing a little, and that helps get it in place a little easier. Now, if you want a divorce,

2010-04-27 Thread Dan Heath
I am familiar with the engine as I have one in my shop that has since been converted to a 1915. Backfiring can be caused by running too lean, and probably by a timing that is too advanced. Your engine should run at the same, or nearly the same RPM, with either ignition, on and the other off. If i
