What I though to be a fix is only a workaround.
You can delete ~/.kde/share/config/klipperrc and that should be okay.
the problem is that as long as the config file is existing, means that you have
set a personal configuration, the crash appears again.

the problem is that depending the laguage, the main toolbar gets very large.
With french for example, it doesn't fit on the screen with 1280*1024 resolution.
By the way, you get the icon's function while putting focus on it, and even new
users are used to that way to work (same on about all OSes)

There is no known way to resolves this since the only workaround is a hack
upstream doesn't want to perform.
This only appears with certain version of xorg (maybe ubuntu's package is
