The lace piece is is really made by Milca Eremiasova (name in Czech is
Milèa Eremiá¹ová), she's an excellent Czech lacemaker and the lace is a part
of an exhibition in Lace museum in Vamberk. Her works are exhibited in many

Joking apart, I was amazed at the work of this artist, and depressed as

I thought some lacemakers might find these useful: I saw photo coasters
that could be used to display lace on sale--box of 4 for $2.47 USD--at a
local (Seattle area) Kinkos. They're on a clearance rack, and might be sold
at other stores in the chain.

I am currently working on the lessons from Edna Sutton's book Bruges Flower
Lace and it calls for size 60/2 linen thread. I don't have that thread and
have used DMC perle coton size 12 and I feel this thread is just a tad
thick. So I found a Brok size
If you have J P Coats tatting-crochet-3 cord, it is close in measure to
Brok linen 60/2.
I got this info from Brenda's Threads for Lace book - highly recommended for
all your thread comparison purposes!
I am sure there is a lace supplier in the US that stocks this valuable
reference.

Not all linens 60/2 are precisely the same thickness, but they seem to
be in the same ballpark: 25-26 wraps per cm, according to

just wanted to let you know, that Dorothee was able to leave the intensive care
unit
today and is now in an ordinary ward. She is doing very well and is allowed to
get up
and sit at a table in her hospital room for her meals.
