Having read the posts that followed this, I do like the idea of using

Or you could buy a length of wide elastic and sew the ends together to make
a very large elastic

I have a similar story.
My bestest friend, who no longer makes lace, had had a really bad back
problem and as she was recovering was with me on a Honiton lace
All this definately proves that we have to choose carefully those we give
these priceless gifts to and also to try to make them aware of the many
hours of work that goes into them. It also proves we need to have a big
sense of humour.
Thankfully I have only felt once that I made a wrong choice
Hello everyone,
During the last weekend in May I was at a the first international
Couvige organized by Lei Roucas dou Barri, a group of lacemakers in
Pierrefeu du Var in the south of France. We had a wonderful time - it
took a while but we've now sorted out the photos David took and you

The first piece of Honiton I was pleased with had taken weeks, and I decided
to give it to my mother. I found a little porcelain pot which would go with
the colours in her living room, and was desperate to find a suitably

Hello everyone,
We've now mounted some updates to the Lace Guild website - extracts
from April's Lace magazine, details of a Honiton lace weekend with Pat
Perryman at the end of October, and new membership bobbins.

Jeri,
Thanks for showing us that picture of your pillow. It is a beautiful piece
of artwork itself. I really like all the varieties of pillows. I also
enjoy trying to make different ones for my own collection. My D shaped

The `children in this video are our youngest grandchildren, Daan and Alicia.
They are both 11 years old now - born 4 weeks apart - and they are not at
our place too often. Daan lives in the Netherlands and Alicia in
Switserland.
But whenever they are here, they want to make lace. And always
...humor?...in my opinion David Collyer should stick to his
lacemaking, which is what he does well.

I didn't know they had their pajamas on but the pure joy of the music and
their lacemaking comes through the computer and makes me smile too.
So tell them they have spread joy with this video.

Is it Queyras (sp)?? Wouldn't you know, I came to lace too late to truly

Wow, thanks for the reference. Maybe my beads the Lacis box are ok since
they are probably polymer. The color carving look so intriguing. Susan,

I had a friend who made a bride a beautiful wedding handkie, that was loved
and admired by all - including the bride. But after the wedding it went
missing and was never seen again - They think it was collected up from the
table with the serviettes/napkins, and vanished that way.

What great photos! Thanks for sharing. I was especially awed by those
pillows with the chip carving on the ends. Any idea who made them? I'd
love (!!) to own one of those!! Beautiful!
