Devon, may I refer you to the Spring 2011 issue of Surface Design? It was serendipitous that I was cleaning my studio over the weekend & found my copy. There are a number of examples that might be right up your alley. Artists include: Iveta Mihalikova, Silvia Federova, Lauran Sundin, Lenka

I too, along with other lacemakers, have been rather too busy to join this somewhat ridiculous discussion. Invited to the IOLI Convention in Indianapolis, I've been teaching some of the techniques that allow for ideas to be expressed in bobbin lace in a painterly manner. Is this Art? Dear me,

I would definitely include Agnes Herczeg of Hungary in a show like this.  I own one of her pieces, and it is beautiful! Her pieces are a genius mix of needle lace and bobbin lace.  Check out her gallery. Her site is www.agnesherczeg.com Saving up to buy another piece. Enjoy! PegIn hot and humid

Devon, that’s difficult to answer. What is it keeping our eyes and being overwhelm from what we see? In my opinion it’s something perfectly personal. Therefor I can’t say what I would advise to work. To make lace works acceptable for public is to try again and again and to explain why you did

My views of what we must do to promote lace making are unique. At age 78, I'm interested in propelling us forward into the future and have been trying to donate my library to a museum research facility that will be more accessible than my home in Maine. It is a difficult task and (for me)

That is a very difficult question to answer. A lot of that has to do with the 'eye of the beholder'. There have been a lot of things called 'art' where I would go 'really?' It seems to me that often it is about making a statement. Some things I really wonder why something is called art, like

Watched the video, it looks really simple once you manage to make the tiny adapter. Saved it to my piniterest page for future reference. Right now I'm working with only 6 pairs so by hand will suffice. I wonder if those portable (sewing machine) bobbin winders would work with the technique too.
